Best guitar in it's price range...

I just took over the acoustic spot in our church's worship team and I needed an acoustic/electric while on stage. I have an Ibanez EW20ASNT and was trying to decide on installing an LR Baggs system in it with a preamp as the guitar sounds so great acoustically.

For the same price of a pickup and pre-amp, I was able to pick up this guitar plus a few extra bones (got a discount with a blem model!).

I was worried this guitar wouldn't "cut-through" the worship mix, but so far, everybody says it sounds a 100x better than the Takamine EG523SC that it was replacing on stage. One of the comments was that it sounded much deeper than the Taki and more natural. I would attribute this to the different type of pickup and I believe a better sound without the glossy finish (I believe it 'tightens' the sound when you have a clear coat... from my experience).

Over all, I have not looked back from this guitar. One thing that I can say is that I have normal sized hands, but meaty palms and the Ibanez neck can't be beat. Period...and the fact that I can practice with my non-electric Ibanez, then jump to the acoustic/electric Ibanez without skipping a beat or warmup.

Great guitar, great price. I also recommend the AEL50C case for it. It's awesome... saving for one now since I love the guitar so much! :)

I've owned this guitar now for almost four years. I totally love its looks and even its unplugged tone quality. HOWEVER... It emits a LOT of hiss in my PA system and in several PA's I've tried. Also, the output of the quarter inch jack is very low compared with its XLR output. I called Ibanez re: these problems and they simply said to take it to a repairman. Are others experiencing the amount of hiss I am? Or is it just a problem with mine? Apart from these problems, I really appreciate the guitar.

Decent guitar, sub-par pickups

Physically, the AEL50SERLV is absolutely beautiful. The inlays are breathtaking. Played acoustically, it has a crisp, full sound. The cutaway body and onboard tuner are great features. Now for the negative.. the pickups are awful! They do not pickup the bass strings and add too much highs to the treble strings. I messed around with the levels as much as I could- no dice. Also, this guitar arrived with the neck slightly bowed. I ended up returning it. This is a decent guitar, but there are better ones out there.

I bought this in place of a much more expensive Taylor and have not regretted it. While I'm not saying it's as good as a Taylor the quality is exactly what I expected to get for my money. I love the onboard tuner, a big selling point for me. I did have to adjust the neck and tweek it alittle but have no complaints.

Beautiful look and sound

I went to the music store and played almost every guitar in the acoustic room. I had been saving up and was looking at getting a Parkwood, Breedlove, Martin or Taylor ($900-$1200). Then I found this Ibanez. As soon as I played it I knew this was my guitar. It has a rich tone with alot of bottom end, not to mention a beautiful look. Electronics with both high and low impedence inputs and a built in tuner make this guitar great for any kind of playing: playing out or just messin around by yourself. This guitar plays sounds and looks higher quality instrament than its price tag implys. I HIGHLY recomend this guitar to anyone and everyone.
