The Ibanez AEL2012ETKS 12-String Acoustic Electric Guitar sports a flamed maple top and maple & back sides. The cutaway gives you full access to the rosewood fretboard. Other features include an abalone rosette, chrome die-cast tuners, Ivorex ™ nut and saddle, and Advantage™ bridgepins.

The AEL2012ETKS is equipped to shine in any venue with the Fishman Sonicore and the AEQ-SST Shape Shifter Preamp. The Fishman Sonicore is an under-the saddle pickup designed to eliminate sonic deadspots and is made from a copolymer material in a special braided wire. The 3-band AEQ-SST Shape Shifter Preamp was specifically designed to work with the Fishman Sonicore pickup and features a tone shaper that lets you quickly and easily dial in the sound you want. The Shape Shifter is quiet and has a lot of headroom so you can get more volume before distortion sets in. It also has a phase reverse switch for eliminating feedback and an onboard tuner.

I've owned this guitar for a year now and use it alot with an Irish band I'm in. Good quality, nice sound with a big body. Easy playing. Built in tuner is very handy, as is having the xlr output in addition to the 1/4" jack (just in case you're short a DI when u get on stage). I recommend this as an inexpensive 12 string.

I just got this guitar new a couple of months ago and, so far, it's been a pretty decent axe for the money. There are lots of good things about this guitar but an honest reviewer might do well to point out the flaws in the product before heaping praise. First, my main gripe is that the frets on my guitar are very poorly done. They protrude slightly from both the top and bottom of the fretboard making me rather nervous both about cutting my fingers and having the high E closest to the bottom get caught underneath the protruding fret, which happens quite often much to my annoyance. Secondly, a very slight but noticeable bow has formed on the back of my guitar since I've had it. I am very particular about how I store and handle my guitars so I'm pretty sure it's nothing I did. Other than that, there were only a few minor cosmetic flaws in the binding that caught my eye after a close inspection but there's really nothing major to gripe about as far as the looks of this very esthetically pleasing guitar; which brings me to the good points: First, it's quite beautiful. I love the flamed maple top on this guitar and the gold harware along with abalone inlay (real or not) around the sound hole make this guitar look like a much more expensive model than it is. The dot inlays on the fretboard and the wood of the fretboard look kinda cheap but that doesn't affect the sound or playability much as far as I can tell. Second, the sound quality is quite good both unplugged and amplified. I've played this guitar about every day since I've had it and I swear it sounds a little better every time I pick it up. It stays in tune pretty well for a cheaper twelve string. Intonation wasn't too bad when I got it but it could use a set-up ... I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. All in all I would say that this guitar, although far from being perfect, is a fine instrument for a hobbyist or even a serious musician on a budget who wants a good sounding, esthetically pleasing and relatively inexpensive 12-string. I plan on gigging with mine as soon as I get the aforementioned fret problem fixed.

This guitar is well worth the money, all the features make this as good or better than guitars costing twice as much. I love this guitar.

Good cluck for your buck

After playing this guitar the only objection one might have is that the neck is a bit rough to handle if one has small hands. I find that my hands tire easily after playing for an hour or two (especialy if you play barre chords). The sound is exceptional both electrified and acoustic with the solid jangle that you expect from a 12 string. The workmanship is exceptional what you would expect from an instrument of twice the price. Overall this is a good quality instrument and a great buy.

I just bought this guitar, and have been putting it through the paces. It has a great acoustic sound when unplugged, and a nice warm tone when run through amplification. The onboard tuner is a wonderful tool, and the xlr output is a lifesaver. All in all, this is the best guitar in this price range! It compares favorably to guitars from other makers that are much more expensive.
