The Decimator G String is a noise reduction pedal that delivers performance like that of the renowned ISP Decimator ProRackG. The Decimator G String provides a totally independent channel of sound reduction that can be inserted into a series effects loop or after a preamp section with the advantage of having the Decimator level detectors track the guitar signal directly.

With the G String pedal you can set the threshold and no matter what level of noise the Decimator will track perfectly without any side effects. And the amazing thing is that you can switch from high gain to your clean channel and never have to switch the Decimator G String off due to the threshold being set too high. It's simply transparent.

The noise reducing pedal has an input to connect a guitar directly and a buffered output signal to feed the front of a guitar rig directly while providing a separate audio channel of Decimator that can be inserted in the signal chain of any guitar rig. You can insert any other pedals between the output of the Decimator G String and the input of your guitar amplifier. This allows the Decimator G String pedal to remove any level of noise you may have even with overdrive pedals at the front end of the amp.

Decimate your noise problems, whatever they might be. Call or click now to order.

This pedal truly is the end of any guitarists search for a perfect noise gate. Offering a gate before the amp AND integrated into the effects loop is simply perfect. Having two gate loops is a must for any high gain tube amp, if you roll off the volume on your guitar then turn up the amps volume you can still hear white noise from the preamp. Connect a serial effects loop to the decimator and every, literally every noise except your guitar signal is gone. It tracks perfectly to fast notes and sustained notes. I even tried it played softly on a clean channel with the same settings and it sounded totally natural. Just set it and forget it. I'm pretty much convinced that the rackmount version of this is the same thing, just in a rack space. I don't think it's worth an extra couple hundred just for sticking it in a rack. Go with this one, it is the first purchase any guitarist needs to make.

My friend turned me onto to ISP while I was using my Boss NS-2. The Decimator works WAY better. Plus when using the Decimator G pedal, I don't need to run a separate pedal up front. The Decimator G will run up front and through your effects loop cutting out the 'waterfall' sound that high gain amps get. This thing works great with my Diezel "Herbert" head. Worth the price! I would say if you have a little extra money, get the Decimator ProRack G. It's more expensive but is by far the best noise reduction system out there.

I play into a Boogie Express 5:25, known to be noisy on the Burn channel. Simply stated, this pedal eliminated the problem, with no negative impact on my tone, attack, touch-responsiveness, or sustain. Keep a couple of things in mind.

1. There are two basic set-ups. The first is to eliminate noise from your pedals you run in front of the amp. The second is to eliminate that noise PLUS the noise generated by your pre-amp. I am running the second set-up, and it works exactly as it should (you have to have an effects loop for this set-up).

2. Once you get around the point on the knob where all your noise disappears (mine is at around -40db), small movements make a noticeable difference in trade-off between noise reduction and tone/dynamics retention. My ideal setting is probably about -38 db (retain all tone/dynamics, very slight noise remaining). At and to the left of -40, too much noise. At and to the right of about -36 or so, playing is affected.

If you like gain and are sick of putting up with noise, this pedal is an easy and effective solution.

This noise gate is the best one avalible in pedal form, period. And not by a slim margin-- it is leagues above the rest. For anybody using a lot of gain or distortion, this unit cannot be beaten. I use a boss metal zone into a marshall JVM. This pedal, when connected properly, allows my amp to become completely silent in between songs. So silent that it sounds as if the amp is in standby mode.

And yes, the first thing you will want to know is if it is transparent or ruins your sound.. It does not. I now consider this pedal absolutely essential.

I know what your thinking, and yes, I agree, very expensive pedal, but I could not even tell how amazing this thing works. The features are awesume. Being able to run your pedal to the effects loop and to the front of the amp is extremely helpful. If you absolutely hate feedback ( especially during break downs like I do ) then this is the pedal for you. The amp im running right now is a peavey triple X, and its a Gain and feedback monster but the decimator g-string tames it completely without even slightly effecting my tone. OH, don't worry about shuting it off when you switch to clean either cause it doesnt cut your clean sustain. I actually laughed the first time I used it cause its that good. Defeintly check it out, you won't regret it.
