I am a full on gear head, and I really love this pedal. It does a really good imitation of a maestro echoplex the tape version. The reverb is a very nice ambient effect it wont do fender super saturated surf sound, but I dont think that was the intention. It is very transparent a the sound of your amp really comes trough. The single head delay I like to set with a quick short echo for lighter effect, you can hear all the nuances of the amps dynamics. The dual head delay I set the first head quick and short, as I said before. And second head for a slower long delay, you can get that eric johnson sound prety spot on. My favorite part of this pedal is true bypass, so when its off its really off. This is a high end pedal and doesnt eat up the highs in your signal chain or laod up the lows, your guitar sounds like your guitar and your amp still sounds like your amp. Once again this is a high end piece of equipment, and should be used with other like products. It will not make a solid state or digital amp sound like a cranked tube amp, but it will add perfect ambient effects to your boutique or high end tube amp.

I was really psyched about this product because I wanted to use it for delay and reverb in one unit. This would eliminate my having to use two different pedals. BUT you can either use the reverb, the single head delay, or the double head delay, BUT not at the same time. You can't use slap back and then reverb. So if you want this you will still need two boxes.

I was here when the Echofonic from Germany came out about 1958. I have tried every setting on the H/K unit and cannot get any better sound than I get with the Digital Delay. Sorry
