Hohner Parlor Essentials

It's amazing the guitar Hohner has made in the Parlor Essential for the $. I tried other big name brands with similar body styles, but the quality and craftsmanship were sloppy in comparison to this Hohner. I found the Martin LX1 "top heavy" in the neck. In my opinion, this guitar beats the Baby Taylor, the Little Martins, and the 00X1 Martin. There's nothing flashy about this guitar, but it is well made. The guitar has a Taylor-ish bright sound.

One thing I'd say is that this guitar is really larger than the typical parlor, which is what I was looking for. The lower bout is 14", body depth 4", and the scale length is pretty standard, not the typical shorts found on parlors. It is also 14 frets clear to the body.

This guitar is well worth the $. It's a big bang for the buck.

Hohner got it right with quality and craftsmanship first. Flashy is nice but not at the expense of quality. The Essentials show Hohner has their priorities in order. In my opinion you're just paying for the name with the others I noted above, but Hohner has exceeded the big names. Thank you for making my search a worthwhile one. This is a guitar I will point others to without hesitation.
