The model that made the Hiwatt name what it is. Constructed exactly like the Dave Reeves original DR-103, making this amp sound like no other. The sound of a Custom 100 stack at full tilt is truly amazing, with power and responsiveness guaranteed to blow your socks off.

The HIWATT Custom 100 features a dual channel preamp with Low and High sensitivity input for each, 100 watts of all tube output, and individual controls for Brilliant / Normal inputs, Bass, Treble, Mid, Presence and Master Volume. Equipped with 4 x EL-34 tubes in the power stage, 4 x ECC-83 tubes in the preamp. Adjustable 4, 8 & 16 ohm output impedance.

A look inside the amplifier will reveal point- to-point hand wiring, turret tag boards (no printed circuits), and hand laced wiring harnesses. The power and output transformers are manufactured by Partridge, the original 1970's supplier to the original design sheets. The components and wires are the modern available equivalents of the vintage components, 1-watt carbon resistors, and wound polyester capacitors being used throughout.

I've played a wide variety of amps over the years but after really giving a listen to the rich, piercing lead tone of Gilmour and the crisp bite of Townshend, I knew I needed a Hiwatt DR-103.

Make no mistake, this is one of the greatest tube amps ever made. Dave Reeves was an absolute genius. If you're a stompbox player like myself, this thing is worth every penny. Now, I get multiple compliments at every gig about how incredible my tone is. Simple, clean, powerful, rich.....perfect.
