I own the Guild Gad 40ce. What a magnificent instrument this is. I am always complimented on the sound coming from this guitar. You CAN hear "it" when you play. Yes, this is made in China, but don't let that fool you. It's made BY GUILD and has to pass GUILD inspection before it can leave the factory. It's also made with the same materials as the USA Guilds. However, a China worker gets paid daily what an American worker gets paid hourly, that's why these guitars are more affordable for you and me. GREAT marketing strategy if you ask me. Also, my PS3 was made in China and it's considered one of the greatest technological innovations ever conceived in the gaming industry. Get this Guild!

I have owned the Guild Gad 40-C for a month. It was a bit of an adjustment, I have never owned a guitar of this quality, but now that I am used to it I really love it. Easy to play, nice sound (can be a little bright for me, I play mostly with a pick so this may be a factor.) Beautiful to look at, seems to be high-quality for the money. Only issue I had, the pegs that hold the strings in at the bridge are cheap, in fact I had one break the first time I changed the strings. I replace the pegs with imitation ivory bridge pins, made a big difference, even seemed to improve the sound. Again, only a month, but I would definitely recommend this guitar for anyone looking at this price level.

I recently recieved one of these Guild's as a gift. I have been playing guitar for 11 years now and this is the best guitar I have ever owned. It's no, Santa Cruz or Bougeious, but for the value it is an amazing guitar. It sounds awesome plugged in straight through a PA and sounds great unplugged as well. I love this guitar. I may keep it forever, even if I purchase a higher end guitar. It's fun to play and the action is great with no fret buzz at all. Like I said, I got this as a gift, but if I had, had the money I would have bought one myself.

Just Perfect

I play many different types of Rock and this guitar suits all of them and more. I also do not use a pick, and this guitar is loud enough I have no problems with volume. It has great sound for finger picking as well.

The looks, the feel, the quality, it is all top notch. I would swear it was American made if not for the tag saying otherwise. For the price and quality you just cannot go wrong with this guitar. Also the pickup you can get with it works beautifully, and it sounds even better with the Fishman Aura. I cannot tell the difference between this guitar and the regular D-40 Guild makes except when you look at it (I have played both). This has become my main guitar for almost everything acoustic.

Trust me you can NOT go wrong with this guitar. I gave it a 5 for everything for a reason, it deserves it.

I own 2 Guild guitars. They are faithful and true, both live and as song-writing guitars. Craftmanship is superb, both are elegant and beautiful.
