Impressive classical from guild

It can be difficult to find a new classical with solid rosewood sides and back in this price range but Guild has come up with the goods with the gad c2.

A critical feature on any classical is the neck set. I have seen spanish made models that would not allow you to lower the action enough because there was not enough saddle height left after saddle reduction---and I'm not talking about an unusually low action. The guild has a jointed neck which under factory conditions can allow for more accuracy (acoustic considerations aside). This guitar allows ample room for saddle height adjustment, contributing to its playability.

The sound projects well and is very well balanced. I did stumble on a feature of this instrument that came as a surprise. The scale length of the instrument is actually 660mm and not the advertised 650mm length, which probably contributes to its robust tone and makes playing in the upper positions somewhat less cramped. The tuning buttons are wood but rather small for a classical but at least they're not cheap plastic and, overall, quality prevails with this guitar.

Fantastic tone. Arrived with action fairly high, as might a classical guitar have; so no changes made. Frets look leveled. Great student model. It has the feel of a quality instrument due to the nice wood used. A guitar to learn and grow with until the next purchase. Nice finish with the cedar and rosewood.

Let this review be a warning to all who look at this guitar. I bought my first C2 it sounded great, but after a week the whole guitar buzzed from the bridge, so I loosend the strings to see if anythings loose inside the body there was nothing. I then returned it for a new one, now this one is doing the same thing even worse. I have kept the guitar in a humidified case and have never droped it, now I am going to return this one for a exchange and get a new guitar brand entirely.

Other than that when the guitar was not buzzing when I first bought it it sounded very nice, very clear and ringing but that is soon lost to the buzz
