Pewter with Black Competition Stripes Pewter with Black Competition Stripes

From the heart and soul of guitarist and frontman, Patrick Stump of the multi-platinum selling and award winning band, Fall Out Boy, comes the Gretsch G5135-PS Patrick Vaughn Stump Signature Corvette Guitar. The vision Patrick had in mind was a versatile solidbody guitar capable of discharging not only classic biting Gretsch tones but also an array of thick, fat, colorful, bombastic sonic blasts at the flick of a switch. It took the genius mind of Tom "TV" Jones to develop the circuit design that brought Patrick's dream guitar to life.

The singing rich sustain of the Gretsch STUMP-O-MATIC Electromatic Guitar comes from the set-neck, string-through-body design and three Mega'Tron pickups. The special two-position rotary switch allows you to keep things traditional or you may choose to dial in the middle pickup in multiple combination settings that includes having all three pickups on at the same time. And if that isn't enough, rapidly manipulating the STUMP-O-MATIC kill switch machine gun style while the electric guitar is engaged in full throttle screaming feedback may cause some to duck for cover. Embodied in Pewter with strategically placed black stripes on the body makes the STUMP-O-MATIC Corvette guitar a must have in your arsenal.

Great Playing Guitar worth the $$

I just got this guitar today and believe me it's every bit of the guitar Gretsch said it was. The 12 plus radius, makes this guitar very smooth to handle. And the Mega Tron humbuckers are great will give you crystal clean sounds to really screaming high's. Although not an expensive guitar you could spend 4 times the price not get a better guitar. The Guild Gretsch G6286 is the case made for this guitar if you can find one. I bought the Gator GPE-LPS ATA-Style LP Style Rectangular Case for this baby, also the Gator GC-LPS Deluxe Case also fits this guitar. Buy it you'll love the sounds this guitar makes.

Let's start at the top and work our way down on the sweet Gretsch Stump-O-Matic Corvette.

The head is sweet, very slick, good. The Tuners are awesome, holds a tune like a dream.

The neck is nice, I'm not a fan of a gloss neck, but this neck plays almost as well as a satin finished neck. The frets are pretty sweet, good action on them. The fretboard is a little wide for me, I'm used to the necks on my Schecter C-1 Hellraiser and C-1 Classic, but I'm definitely loving it. I'm also used to a 24 fret neck, instead of the 21 on the corvette, but the cutaways allows you to hit all 21 frets with no problems.

The body is awesome! It's slim, sleek, and light. It's very comfortable whether you play it up high like a jazz/blues guitarist or down low like rocker.

The electronics are amazing! First off, the pick ups sound sweet. Clear as a bell or thick and juicy, they'll do what you want. They don't give you a very good metal sound, but can handle a pretty heavy distortion. Also, you can't get the twang of a Tele, but you can get some if you work the pickups. The center position of the three way toggle is my favorite, the tone is crisp, clear, and powerful; great overdriven sound. The third pick up is great for feedback, thick sound, and rhythm guitar. It's not very good for the lead guitar sound because you lose some clarity, but if you turn it down a bit using the dedicated volume knob, you can fix that right up and blend a sweet array of tones. The only thing I would change is adding one more volume knob, making each pick up independant. The killswitch is awesome and allows you to do some cool tricks (i.e. Tom Morello type stuff). As we all know, Tom "TV" Jones is an electrical genius!

The string through body give this sweet lady some great sustain.

The jack is in a great position, and doesn't hit anything (if I leave it plugged in) when on my warwick rockstand.

The Paint job is hot. The pewter is set off by even the slightest amount of light and the stripes are cool. The knobs are sweet, a little big in my opinion, but sweet none the less.

Overall, this is probably the sweetest guitar I own as far as playability, tone, and comfort. Like I said, if you want metal, get something with an EMG 81/85 combo, like the new Schecter C-1 Hellraiser (because you can now tap the 81/85 combo), otherwise get this beauty right here, it's the new hotness, while other guitars are old and busted.

Gretsch outdid, not only themselves, but everyone on this one. Best value for this price, and more. Plays better than my old roommates PRS and LP. I love my new baby, and she loves me back!

The Gretsch Stump-o-matic Corvette, is a great guitar.

I got it in the mail two days ago and I couldn't be happier. It came out of the box looking gorgeous. I was surprised, but it was actually set up quite well. It even came out of the box in tune, quite impressive.

The pick ups sound fantastic, you can get a really good single coil sound, which is weird, and when the middle pick up is activated it has a great humbucker tone.

Also, it has the coolest strap buttons I've ever seen. They are almost like strap locks that come standard on it.
