Bang for your buck

I've owned this guitar for almost a year and a half now. I can assure you that there is no better hollow-bodied guitar for the money. I've looked up to get a Gibson hollow or Rickenbacker, but this things gets the job done.

It sounds good and mellow, with enough twang. Styling is great. Neck feels sturdy.

Stock pickups are bland, but have individual pole adjustment, so you have some versatility. Controls are a bit difficult in layout. I also use .09 gauge strings, and the bigsby doesn't fare well with them. The strap buttons constantly work themselves loose, so i have to screw them beck in. If you can get past these small things (and they are VERY small inconveniences), then I'd urge you to get this.

I bought it a month and a half ago. I had to swap it for another because the rhythm pickup kept cutting off (bad volume pot?). G.C gave me another in a swap. I love the tone, I get full spectrum from highs to lows. The Bigsby is smooth. The problems are the frets are too sharp at the edge of the fingerboard (bottom) and can irritate your hand. Also the nut sits real high and is pointy sharp. Overall the the tone makes up for these shortcomings.

This guitar is great. I can get Jack White, The Beatles, and lots of great tones. The Bigsby doesn't cause it to go out of tune. The controls make it very versatile. The Gretsch (TV Jones style) humbuckers give you that great Gretsch sound. The hollowbody does feedback when very distorted, but that's why I bought it. I love it.

I bought this guitar two weeks ago and it is one of my best guitar if not the best. The action was perfect and the Bigsby is awsome. The orange finish is just beautiful. The neck pickup is great for blues and the bridge pickup is great for strumming but not very powerfull for solo. The Bigsby doesn't pull the guitar out of tune wich is a great feature. The only thing i would have like is a second tone control.

I tried one of these in a local music store for the first time today, while testing a Vox AC15. This sounded so nice through the Vox that I ended up taking it home, and I wish I could have brought this guitar with me as well, right on the spot - sadly that would have been a bit much, to abuse my credit card with both purchases in a day.

Anyway. I was really impressed with the feel, and while the Bigsby was not perfectly installed, the shape of the neck more than made up for it - it suited my hand just perfectly. However, I don't much like the control layout/knob placement, which is my only real complaint about the guitar. It'd be hard switching into this from my Tele.

Finally, the orange finish is fun and distinctive, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy it myself. Overall, though, a decent guitar which is quite a find for such a low price
