Black, Headstock Black Black

Take a ride uptown in style and plug it in! Reminiscent of the early Synchromatics of the 1940s, this archtop acoustic/electric has a spruce top, maple sides and back, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The G100CE features a Gretsch pickup, separate volume and tone knobs, chromatic tailpiece, aged pearloid block inlays, vintage headstock logo, and compensated bridge. The 40's design is simple and elegant, and you'll be unlikely to find anything like it in the market at this price.

Perfect for the Gretsch player looking for a no-nonsense, the G100CE guitar is a vibe-loaded acoustic that allows you to plug it in and won't break the bank! It's the couch guitar you can take to the streets.

The Synchromatic's Gretsch pickup offers flexibility and tone. The chromatic bridge and tailpiece provide balanced string tension and enhanced bass response. The art deco design is vintage cool!

Reviewer's Play Style: Classic Rock/Latin Music
I'm an old school guy 60's/70's classic rock who was away from playing and then after centuries finally bought the g100 black and now having trouble putting it down. It was incredible even the next school kids in the music store were very impressed with the sound and me playing Pink Floyd, Thw Who etc. Yes Fender,Gibson are great but The Gretsch Sound is a totally different sound no matter what kind of music you are playing.

Absolutely Wonderful

Just as the title of this review says, Gretsch's G100 certainly does not disappoint. I got this black model, as my band is starting to get a little more serious, and my playing was being limited by my old gear. Comes with Gretsch's lifetime warranty, and hand inspected. Oh, and flatwound stock strings. Perfect!

Not only is this guitar a looker, but it's certainly a player. One of the best guitars I've ever played in my entire life. Smooth, low action.

If you're debating it, just go ahead and buy this thing!

Wonderful guitar..excellent fit and finish. I have the 'natural' finish. It sounds great amped or acoustic. Will probably change strings to jazz lights. Love this guitar and it's all I'm playing currently...my sweet strat just sits on it's stand looking lonely. The Gretsch has great fretwork and the binding and finish are first rate. You won't be disappointed.

Fine jazz guitar

Excellent tone! The laminated woods in this guitar are actually an asset--minimal feedback, greater strength, and still great tone. For this guitar I prefer the blond and sunburst finishes, as the nice F holes are harder to see in the black finish. Wonderful choice for the arch-top enthusiast.
