I was pleasently suprised by this guitar. I walked into a shop and saw what I thought was a Duo Jet (i didn't really look too close) I then plugged into a Fender Super Sonic, which is an amazing amp and played. I was impressed with the sound, the feel and the look. I left rethinking my purchase of a 335, or ever the duo jet and just getting this for a quarter of the price. consider me impressed. probably the best sounding guitar for this price I have seen.

My lead guitarist has one of these and it is a pleasure to play. It has a really good tone. Intonation is a problem with his. It seems that everytime he uses the Bigsby I have to bread out the screw driver and the tuner and get the intonation back. The problem with that is the bridge it doesn't fit properly on the studs and it wobbles. no Big though he just stopped using the bigsby. A side note it takes a little hollowing out to put Humbuckers in this thing, bot to bad though. Stay away from Seymor distortion mayhems with this one. We put a set of those in his and nothing but probs since they are just to hot for this guitar. The Seymor hot rods work very well. All in all for the price of this guitar it is well worth the money. It plays like a dream and has sustain that goes on forever. Just be prepaired to adjust the intonation from time to time.

I bought this guitar after hearing Lyle Brewer from the band Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles. I had never heard the band or the guitar before. This band was just an opening act, and I didn't expect anything from them, but the sound of Lyle's guitar caught my attention.
I asked him about his rig after the set, ready for him to tell me he was playing a $3000 guitar. Much to my surprise, he hipped me to the Pro Jet, telling me it was the best guitar he's ever played. It sounded so good I went out and bought one.
I will say that it is only partly 'Gretsch-like'. My first reaction was, how could a Les Paul look-alike sound so much like a Tele? This thing TWANGS. But it's a beast all its own. I also play a Tele, and the Pro Jet isn't that -- or anything else -- exactly.
This guitar has tone for days and days. Buy it because it makes heads turn when you play live, and because it has tones that are somehow familiar yet -- different. And because it's so versatile it can sound remotely like so many different guitars that you only need this ONE at any given gig.
If you're a serious gigging guitarist who doesn't want to have to change guitars all night (and you want an inexpensive ax you don't have to worry about), your search is over. From Les Paul to Tele to ES 335 and quasi Duo Jet, it's all here.
If you're looking for vintage Gretsch tone, look elsewhere. This one can't be easily 'upgraded' as the minihumbucker routing isn't compatible with TV Jones, DeArmond, etc.
But this guitar is A+ all the way. No worries about workmanship. It's first class. I give it only a 4.5 in features because there's only one volume knob (no problem, actually), and a 4.5 in quality only because the pores in the rosewood neck are slightly more open than I like (but the neck is WAY better than you'd expect from an import).
But make no mistake, this is the single greatest value on the market right now. And it will certainly help you find your own 'signature' sound that will turn heads instantly.
Completely bad-ass. Best move I ever made. A classic in the making. An insanely good guitar for the money. Just stupid.

Why all the tuning complaints?

I read through some of these reviews, and a lot of them seem to focus on tuning stability. The issues isn't the Bigsby, it isn't the tuners either; it's the nut. Usually when you use a Bigsby and the guitar (any guitar) doesn't come back to pitch, it's because the strings are binding in the nut slots. Just lube the nut with some graphite or nut sauce and you should be good to go.
That, and don't wind too much string around the tuners.
Back to the guitar. At this price point, I dare you to find a better guitar. You won't be able to do it.

I was never a huge Gretch fan until I saw The Myriad. They were probably the first reason I bought this guitar, until I played it and fell in love. Beautiful guitar, beautiful tone, and beautiful weight. She's so light, yet so "heavy". The only problem was that she went out of tune a lot before, but now, since I don't bang the strings so hard, I can't remember the last time she went out. She's so sick, I named her "Katherine" after my favorite actress, Anna Katherine Popplewell . Did I mention that I love her? :D
