I've been a guitarist for over thirty years and I have owned Gibson, Fender, Washburn, Ibanez, Peavey and PRS guitars and simply put, Godin guitars are the best guitars you can buy at these prices.
This is my second Godin guitar as I also purchased an A6 Ultra about a year ago and I love them both.
Just find one that fits your style and your good to go. You will not be disappointed and that's real talk...

I've owned my first xtSA for over a year now... It has since changed my take on guitars. I've owned Gibson, Ibanez, Fender, Schecter and the Godin xtSA is the best instrument I've ever played. I recently bought my 2nd (gotta have a backup on tour), and it sonds just as amazing as the first. The tone is so thick, just from the stock pickups!!! And when you mix that with the synth by running 13-pin, you can create a massive wall of thick, lush sound. I will never play another guitar ever again... why would I want to trade down? BUY A GODIN xtSA!!!!!

I originally bought the Godin xtSA for the 13pin synth interface. I bought a Roland GR20 and had read that the external pickups tracked slower than built-ins. Although I took chance - and I'm glad I did. I was surprised at the quality of this guitar; the craftmanship is superb. I used to take several guitars to gigs, acoustic/electric as well as my Gibson and Fender electrics. Now I just take this baby as it is able to get every tone I need, from hard rock to dance to C&W. I mostly use the synth for recording as I find the tracking to be a challenge for live music (though I do use some of the synth voices live). But recording is great as I can do all of the instruments myself now, from sitar to orchestra. And this guitar is beautiful to behold (I have the red and the picture doesn't show the richness of the texture and depth of color). The locking tuners are sweet and don't slip at all. This axe is simply a well designed and crafted instrument. I love my Godin.

I bought the xtSA on the reviews that I read above. I recieved the guitar in good working order and although it was a little heavy I really wanted to like this guitar. Really, I purchased this for use with the Roland VG-99 guitar processor. The distortion that some users have reported was responsible for me returning the guitar. I have a GK-3 pickup on my US Telecaster and it works great as long as you compensate for the extreme neck radius. Based on the reviews I figured the Godin would sound more even and, well it did. The piezo pickup pissed me off. It sounded awesome by itself through the amp but as soon as I used it as a midi transducer I had audible distortion on my acoustic guitar patches that was too overwhelming to ignore, I spent hours trying to compensate for volume and intensity etc to no avail. When I switched back to the Tele, all of the patches came to life but were slightly uneven until I realized how to compensate for that (instead of turning e & b up, turn everything else down). As a guitar it sounds very good, as a VG-99 controller it doesn't come anywhere near the sound my Tele produces. I may get a Roland Ready Strat too bad they don't sell one any more.
A further note is, I love the neck but the nut was way too high for this guitar. That's easy to fix if I were back home but I have limited resources here in the desert.

This guitar is awesome. The specs on the fretboard are enough to drive anyone who plays it virtually buzzy with enthudiasm to whip out your card and swipe!!! Three sounds you can blend together - separate acoustic voicing sounds really good. I have two Gibson J185s and in the studio yoiu can tell the difference micing up of course but with the eq and processing this guitar is arguably convincing. And I am picky about that sort of thing making records. Electric configuration is smokin hot but I would like the ability to switch the doublecoils to single strat config all the way through but that smy personal taste. Using the tone you cna trim it up pretty good to a buttery sound such as Hendrix on little wing. Swing down to treble and you can get double hummer. I use this with an Fender, Marshal, and Vox amp set up so I can switch and I can get tele, strat, and les paul Tones I am totally blown away!!! All with one guitar. Throw in the synth over that capability I can do it all with one instrument. The crafstmanship is superb. It is sculpted at the back of the neck-body joint to allow unfettered access to frets 12 and above. This guitar is soo Good I am truly amazed. Truly a one stop shop. Maybe thats why the touring guitar player for Genesis endorses it?? (I didn't know that until after I scopped her up) BUY YOURS TODAY!!!!
