At first glance the Multiac has a familiar look, with its single cutaway, chambered body adorned with traditional F-holes and the Godin GJN1 humbucker at the top of the fingerboard. The slotted headstock and preamp controls on the upper bout offer clues that this guitar is much more than traditional. Each saddle in the bridge is an independent transducer, supported by an onboard preamp and graphic equalizer. This system can be used on its own or in combination with the neck pickup, opening up a world of new sonic possibilities. Also includes a hexaphonic output from a 13-pin connector that provides direct access to Roland GR Series synthesizers and other Roland V-Guitar products that use the same interface!

I have played for a long time, mostly at home and with friends. This guitar was bought primarily for experimenting with synthesized sound and its midi tracking is good enough that I was able to play 'naturally' with a GR-33 or GR-20 on after a couple of hours. There were two surprises with it. 1. The neck is so good (playable all the way to the top - linear and smooth). I have played/owned Heritage, Gibson, PRS - lots of quality guitars and have never found a better 'playing' guitar. 2. After two years, I still find new combinations/mixes to produce great sounds. The ability to mix the two audio outputs onboard is great! Also I can take one midi/acoustic output into the amp on a second cable an mix that way. I am always able to find a sound that makes me want to play - even if I'm just beating out the Girl from Ipanema (again) - it sounds fresh because the tone is new. I have other guitars in my room. but this is my goto instrument. Did I mention that the fit and finish is perfect? The top is beautiful flame cut wood and the finish it looks like ... perfection. It makes you want to play better :)

I have been playing for more than 17 years and have been slow to make a new guitar purchase as I have 2 (1 acoustic w/piezo, 1 electric/GK-equipped)perfectly suited axes for my tastes. That being said, I've been adding/trading outboard gear all along; pedals, rack mounted effects and every Roland GK piece I can afford. My goal is this: I like tonal flexibility, but I do not want to fore go my playing technique (predominantly non-traditional fingerpicking) or comfort to accommodate this. Also, I needed a robust road-axe. Holy cow does this guitar fit the bill. First of all, I took it to 2 gigs in the first 48 hours of owning it. At my outdoor solo acoustic gig, I used it as essentially an jazz electric/MIDI axe through a PA and people loved it. I loved it even more, it is substantial in weight and the neck is thick, sustain is perpetual but completely in your control; as is the on board mix and EQ. It could not have been better. But then it got better-I brought it the next day to a small sandwich shop gig that provides a small two channel amp, and only plugged in the 'mix' 1/4" output; simply magic. A tremendous range of tones at my fingertips. The little humbucker and RMC hexaphonic piezo pickup and preamp combinations are stunning. I played a cover of Radiohead back to back with Buck Owens and made only the slightest of slider control adjustments-no dancing, no swapping guitars, no additional gear to set up. This guitar is literally a swiss army knife, and built like an M1A1Abrams tank. But the pics don't do justice to the detailing either, beautiful. Looks great, feels great, sounds phenomenal-I use flatwounds, btw

fun guitar but hard to work with

I have had this guitar for quite a while. It's a great looking guitar, has many fantastic features, including a decent piezo and a great midi tracking. However, I felt I always struggled somewhat playing it. I realized that this guitar has pretty high string tension (25.5 scale with a bent headstock and comes with thick strings) It made my performing experience very frustrating. I don't play with it anymore, I play my other godin acs nylon, and a parker fly guitar, which have string tension which is workable with.
