The Montreal is the latest in a series of dual-voiced electric guitars from Godin that marry the sounds of traditional magnetic pickups with the saddle transducers in the bridge. The 2-chamber body is carved from a solid block of mahogany and capped with a carved solid mahogany top adorned with f-holes and cream binding. The 22-fret mahogany neck is shaped for exceptional comfort by Godin's ergocut technique, which leaves the back of the neck a comfortable modern C shape, while the front, fretboard edge, and frets are angled slightly in. The recessed pickups and bridge plus sculpted bolt-on neck joint make the Montreal Electric Guitar very comfortable.

The 2 Godin humbuckers produce an extensive range of sounds thanks to a special 5-way switch that provides 5 distinct tones. Add in the L.R. Baggs transducers loaded in the bridge saddles and the palette of sounds becomes infinite. 2 separate outputs are set up so that the electric and acoustic voices can be blended in the guitar using a single patch cord or at the amp/mixer using both outputs. The Montreal guitar hardware is black and gold.

Montreal is a great city, and it becomes that much cooler during its annual Jazz Festival. The city's love affair with jazz inspired the Montreal's creation. Jazz and blues players will love the way the Godin Montreal Electric Guitar sounds and feels.

I've owned this guit-fiddle for a few months now. I must say, I don't bother looking at guitars anymore. The sound options are a dream. If you have been looking for the perfect marriage between acoustic and electric, LOOK NO FURTHER. The set up was awful though. Right after I bought it there were no more available... ANYWHERE! So I'm guessing it was a rush job and I got one of the slip ups. Haven't got it playing right but it sounds so good that I don't even care! You do NOT need effects to enhance the sound of this one. Just use the blend knob!

Hello, I bought this guitar 4 years ago and still enjoy playing it everyday. I added a hardcase to better protect it. Keys are very good a keep the tune. The guitar is very versatile and I can set a wide variety of sound with it. I owe a Gibson Les Paul also but will usually take the Montreal instead.

Hello passionate guitarists!

I bought my MOntreal 2 years ago, for those who are complaining with the hard shell, well I got one including the gig case. Everything is about negotiating... ask for it you might be surprised!

This guitar is amazing! great sound, great tone, I love the acoustic effect as well as the electric. When plugged in 2 different amps (acoustic & electric) the sound spreads so clearly.

The tuning machines which are well designed they lock the strings, great idea! My only concern is about the battery needed to run the acoustic part, it lasts for 300 hours, which a lot but always make sure to put a new one when you have a gig. For the stings buy the Godin light gage. See their website.

Well buy it and explore a whole world of possibilities, people won't believe how good your sound is. Cheers!

Mario

My Godin '335'

First complaints; There are none('cept no hard shell case). The case thing is Godin's way to keep the price down,(yeah right). I bought locally so I got a smokin' deal. If I bought the guitar right then, they would throw in the Lab5 2x12 amp I was trying it thru. I took it out to a gig the following weekend and got all kinds of favorable comments from the band and the locals alike. Great finish, cool looks and capable of lots more tones than the 335 I had wanted previously. Just love it, and the tones are from country acoustic rhythm to get-down nasty blues. Buy it, or at least try it,this guitar has got it going on.
