I've had this guitar for about 3 years. It's constructed of mahogany with a bolt on neck attached with 4 bolts. Despite the bolt on neck (and probably due to Godin's unique bolt-on system) sustain on this guitar is brilliant. The P-90's are powerfull but noisy. Very noisy. I eventually replaced mine. Even after reshielding the guitar and killing any ground loops it was still too noisy for live use. Sorry Godin, the Duncan pickups are duds! Despite that though the guitar itself is absolutely top notch and now stands as the best guitar in my arsenal....and I have more than a few good guitars (I've been playing for about 15 years) ;^)

I was looking for s Les Paul with P-90's, but did not want to spend in that price range. Looked at the DC faded models, did not appeal to me. I came across this Godin LG P-90. One of the best purchases I made. Godin used to make the necks for Fender years ago. I also own a Godin Flat Five X semi hollow guitar w/ a LR Baggs bridge pickup. Great & versatile Guitar! Godin is an Canadian Company, there Guitars are made in New Hampshire. There is a feel of quality with this instrument. Jumbo frets with a 16"radius which is more flat than your standard fret board. Ever since my guitar tech said to me that his favorite pick ups were the P-90's my search began. The Guitar really struts it's stuff when you solo. If you looking for American Quality, at an affordable price with P-90's, this guitar is a great choice. By the way the cherry transparent finish is gorgeous!

I walked into a guitar store as I often do, not even really meaning to buy anything. I picked up this funny, somewhat ugly gold TV finish Godin. Great setup, I liked the super simple electronics, played nice, balanced well. Then I plugged it in. *BOOM*. Despite a Les Paul, some nice Fenders, and whatnot, this guitar is now my main. I use this guitar -> Analogman Sunface -> Dr.Z Maz Sr. and almost everytime I play people come up and go *what!?!?!?!!?*. Amazing 3-D clarity, ridiculous control from pick/volume, etc... once you get your head and hands around how it works the guitar, the amp, everything just go away. It's just you and the attack with the chimey of a vintage strat and the bloom of a cherry gibson, highly recommended.

If a Les Paul and a Telecaster mated, you would get something like this guitar. I mean that in the best possible way because it offers the best of both worlds and delivers it in a very innovated, no-nonsense package. The tone is incredible. I have a PRS SE Custom and a Baja Tele and find myself gravitating toward the Godin LG P90 as much if not more than the others. It is one of the best values in an electric guitar that I can think of.

P90 Or Me No Play

Godin LG P90 Satin Finish. The satin finish is a bit boring, but I love feel of the guitar and the sound of the P90s. Basically perfect for every style of music, but mainly classic rock and clean. I learned to use the volume knob on the guitar alot, because these pickups are pretty hot and normally sound better to me turned down a little. I dont play metal, so I am not sure about that. The wood was kind of sensitive to humidity at first so I was having a little problems with tuning and and sustain, but all is good now. It's light, unlike a Les Paul; feels very heavy duty, unlike an SG; and the quality is outstanding, unlike a Fender. I don't know much about Godin, but I like this guitar. I been playing 15 years and went through about 15 guitars, I owned alot of brands and styles and I this is the only guitar that I really liked. I played the guitar directly through my computer speakers into my headphones and the tone was outstanding with no effects. I can't wait to play through a tube amp someday. Sounds great through a Roland cube 60 though.
