Silver Satin, Rosewood Fretboard

The Detour offers a compact feel with an aggressive double-cutaway design. The body has a silverleaf maple center with poplar wings. Maximum resonance is assured by the super-tight neck pocket, which is masked prior to finishing to make sure there is no paint or finish residue left to impede a wood-on-wood connection. Strings pass through a brass plate in the back of the guitar for maximum sustain. 2 Godin humbuckers capture the amazing resonance and provide rich, punchy tone.

This was my second Guitar. You are sure to get what you pay for. It has great sound quality and great playability. This is a good second guitar because it isn't really that expensive and it will not break if you take good care off it. The Godin Detour doesn't have as great of sound quality like a Gibson but it is a pretty well made quitar. I really recomend buying this guitar and I promise you will have a great experience.

This was my second guitar. It has great clean sound and can handle distortion pretty well. The gig bag that comes with it was awesome! Lots of padding and pockets. I also can be used like a backpack. If you want a good guitar for a good price, get this one!

I went to the music store to buy an Ibanez ! I was with a friend who is a professional guitar player. We took a look arround and play some Ibanez and Fender. I decided to get an Ibanez RG320 - a great guitar just the kind as I need. The price was a bit over my budget but I dicided to take it anyway. Just before we went to pay I noticed they have some Godin guitars. I never tryed any of these before. I grab a gloss black Detour with metal flakes who looks good and seems ''healthy'', if you know what I mean, ready to rock. I am near fall down of my seat when I played with this thing. I fall in love in the same time. What a beautifull tone sound and so confortable neck able to rock loud and blues smouth. I was plugged into a big washburn amp and I want to improve the guitar itself with a little amp to ear if the tone was from the amp or the guitar itself. I plugged it in a little 15 amp crate amp and it was one of the big surprise I never got, the tone was still present! I leave the RG320 behind and bought the Detour without regrets. I let some bucks in my pocket by the same occasion. I still love this guitar today.

This guitar is great, I started playing guitar by taking lessons at a local music place, and was just renting a guitar and amp from them for a while, after I decided I really liked guitar I began looking for a guitar around this price range. Initialy I was stuck on a mexican strat HH, and the day I tried this out my teacher had just got a mexican strat HH and comparitively the 2 guitars are the same. so that night I bought it, becuase this guitar made that crappy little 5W crate shred, and it was perfect. Everyday I find something new I like about this guitar, and it stays in tune better than anything I've played before (one practise my strap broke and the guitar fell on concrete and I picked it up and still was in tune), this leads me into the durrability, I play guitars, HARD, and I have not broken a stock string after 3 months, nor even scratched the guitar. Not to mention, I dropped it on concrete, and you can't Even notice the tiny blemish it got. With having amp trouble starting the day I bought this guitar I've been playing it 60% unplugged, and it has made me forget that I am playing an electric, for the wood has great sustain, and it is loud! But when I plug this into my Peavey supreme halfstack, it produces a high presence, in your face, brutal distortion (fortunatley for my appetite for gain is bottomless). When I plug it into my fender, its true sound comes out, the humbuckers are fat, and produce, a mezmorizing clean when in my fender. This guitar is all around great, its satisfied my cravings for distortion, and also given me a desire for acustic sound, and increased my respect for clean music. you will not be disapointed in it.

PS. the guitar doesn't look as bad some say, I got it in pearl black, and it looks fine.
