The A6 Ultra semi-acoustic continues with the innovative concepts found in all Godin A-series guitars, such as combining plugged-in acoustic sound with the feel of an electric neck, along with a chambered body design that virtually eliminates feedback in live & loud settings. These features stand true and better than ever in the A6 Ultra guitar with the added "oomph" and full tone of a Godin humbucker in the neck position, along with an under-saddle transducer, dual outputs (acoustic and electric) that combine for a huge stereo sound and a Custom Godin preamp section voiced specifically for the A6 Ultra. This preamp section gives a player the chance to control their tone via sliders for acoustic volume, treble, mid, bass and independent controls for the electric humbucker volume, treble and bass.

Whether plugging into the single acoustic mix or in stereo (via both outputs), controlling your tone is at the tip of your fingers. And the A6 Ultra guitar delivers in all styles of music from jazz to rock to country and not to mention a great blues slide guitar.

Other features on the Godin guitar include a solid cedar top, a two-chambered silver leaf maple body, semi-gloss finish mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and the comfortable feel of an ergocut.

I'm a Merchant Marine that stumbled across mine while I was stationed in Hawaii last year Aug 2008. I got it for Island style raegae because its popular there little did I know what I really had. I own several Gibson Lucilles', a strat,Ibanez, ovataion and yamahas but this guitar is off the chain..... LOL it plays reagae with ease but when you want some funk, jazz, R&B it awesome. I started doing blues with it a few months ago and I was blown away because for such a light weight guitar it hits like a gibson when doing blues it holds it own very well I love it I wish the would have made the bridge without those peg pins but other than that its a cool axe. with a tube amp I get a real fat warm sound with a soild state line 6 spider jam a very rich sound take your pick. soon after I purchased mine I put a Seth Lover humbucker in the neck and its more powerful and fat. I love it for the price its cool I will get another when Godin changes the bridge peg set up.

Best off all you don't need a lot of effects with this guitar but if you use them its just that much better.

this guitar plays great sounds incredible plugged in. loved the guitar until ibroke a string. when the string breaks at the saddle if the ball end of the string falls down into the guitar it makes its way down the wiring hole and into the input jack area, it will short the jack connections and cause major distortion. the input jack has to be removed to remove the string end. a real pain in a live situation. Also, the tuning machine heads are very cheap i have had to replace two of them in the middle of a gig because they both split down the middle. if not for these two issues i would have given this guitar a much higher rating

It really does have a great neck and plays like an electric. The sound is very good for both electric and accoustic. This is my first experience buying a guitar before I tried it. I'm happy.

I love this Godin A6 Ultra guitar.

First, it is beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. The solid cedar top is stunning. The mahogany neck begs to be stroked. The binding is perfect.

I don't think rockers would be attracted to this gem. But if you're into jazz, blues, folk, finger-picking, gospel, etc. you'll love it.

It feels so good to hold and sounds great no matter how you amp it... 1. acoustic w/undersaddle 2. electric w/humbucker 3. blend the acoustic undersaddle with the humbucker or 4. hook it up in stereo... acoustic through one amp and humbucker through a second amp. This is a fun guitar.

My only complaint is the pin bridge (I hate pins). It would've been so easy to make it pinless ala Breedlove guitars. But this is a minor detail.

Godin makes excellent gig bags. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the gig bag.

The controls not only look cool, they're easy to use. Go to www.godinguitars.com and you can see the owners manual detail of the controls.

In a nutshell, this guitar is pure class!

An excellent blend of acoustic and electric

Godin is the leading innovator in acoustic and electric solidbody guitar design, and the A6 Ultra is just more proof of how much they are pushing the button with new technology at an affordable price. The custom humbucker has a smooth tone and has a nice crunch when plugged into a Marshall, it distorts well, however it lacks some sustain that hotter humbuckers or active pickups have. The tuning stability is top notch and the neck is exceptionally fast and is designed just like any Godin electric guitar neck. While the neck is thin, it is not as flat as a Wizard, it is more rounded then a Fender Strat neck. The acoustic electronics are top of the line, plug into a Marshall AS50, Fender Acoustasonic, Fishman Loudbox or Crate acoustic amp and you will get all the natural acoustic tones of any other expensive hollow acoustic guitar. Overall this is one exceptional guitar, I will be buying one as soon as they become available.
