Antique Natural, Body Closeup

The Gibson CSR Grand Concert acoustic guitar from the Songmaker series is crafted in solid wood and sports features such as Gibson's traditional scalloped bracing, double-acting truss rod, and premium Sitka spruce tops.

The CSR Grand Concert features a J-45 headstock, the rosette of the SJ-200, the pickguard from the Blues King, and the bridge from the Woody Guthrie Southern Jumbo. Gibson integrated these features into a comfortable grand concert body style, and used solid tone wood construction in the CSR's spruce top and rosewood back and sides to create an instrument that delivers full, rich sounds across its entire range in any setting.

Other significant appointments in this Gibson guitar include a solid mahogany, 25-1/2-inch scale neck with an ebony fingerboard, rosewood or white boltaron binding, genuine mother of pearl dot inlays, chrome hardware, and Tusq saddles, nuts, and bridge pins. The headstock and peghead carry the Gibson logo in silk-screened gold letters. In addition, every Songmaker Series acoustic comes with its own standard hardshell guitar case from Gibson Acoustic.

Proudly made by Gibson Acoustic in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

I picked up this guitar in a local music store and knew right away that I was taking it home. I play alot of acoustic gigs and this thing is awesome. I own a Martin D16Gt and this guitar sounds every bit as good and plays even better. The shape of the body makes it very easy to play and the full binding and gloss finish is beautiful.

Long, smooth sustain from Tusq nut & saddles and all solid wood. Looks beautiful! Highs, mids, & lows are balanced and clear. Gorgeous tone for blues, jazz, pop, and rock sounds. Heel could be carved smoother. Perfect 16:1 tuners, not too sensitive. Worth the money but a little steep. Nice case but not for traveling. Frets are great except could be more polished.

Tone and playability is unbelievable. The sustain and clarity and depth of low, mids, and highs is again, unbelievable. The construction is flawless and it better be, it's Gibson. Yes it's handcrafted in Canada, but that's better than Mexico or Asia. Compared to the American Gibson, it's not inferior in the least bit, just less expensive. Worth the money for the solid rosewood back & sides. I cannot imagine and have never experienced a guitar that could be easier and smoother to play and that could sound better than this. The 5 or 6 thousand dollar Martins or Taylors or Santa Cruz or Breedlove just have a slightly different tone and feel but not necessarily better.

I have had mine for about a month. All I can say it has excellent sound as well as workmanship and finish. I have 7 acoustic guitars and this by far is the best sounding one yet. Gibsons are too expensive but I have found this lower price (if this a lower priced guitar ?) model is very nice to have and I enjoy the comments from friends who give it a try. I have a Taylor 214e and the Gibson sound blows it away. Deep and rich tones, maybe due to the rosewood sides and back ? I am very pleased with it and think you would be as well.
