Guitar arrived within 5 days of ordering. Opened the case for the first time and was awe-struck! Absolutely beautiful and flawless, fanastic quality control. The pics don't do it justice as the wood grain does show through, and its smokin hot! Beautiful instrument, well built, plays straight from the moment it arrived with low action and not one dead spot or buzzing anywhere on the neck. P'ups sound great, and it is suprisingly light, I could wear this baby all day. In my 20 years of playing, this is the ONLY guitar I've purchased wherein I did not want to change, modify, replace or upgrade anything. Simply pleased, way to go Gibson! If you can't afford it now, finance it! After playing my SG, I regret all the junk I've purchased over the years!!!

THIS GUITAR IS GREAT PICK FOR A LEFTY PLAYER. PLAYS VERY NICE,NOT TO CRAZY EXPENSIVE.WELL MADE OF COURSE. VERY LITE SO GOOD TO GIG WITH, ROUNDED FAT NECK, VERY EASY TO GET AT THE HIGH FRETTS. MINES LIKE 15 YEARS OLD AND ITS STILL AS GREAT AS EVER. I DO NEED TO REPOT THE PICKUPS CUZ THEY ARE GETTING PRETTY BUZZY BUT I MIGHT JUST SWAP IN SOME 57 CLASSICS

I have alot of guitars, 26 to be exact, and including this one, 4 of my guitars are SG's, I have: A Gibson SG custom reissue (White) A Gibson SG custom standard reissue (Red) An Epiphone SG G-400 (Black) And now this Gibson SG standard (Red) Im a big fan of gibson / Epiphone guitars. actually, only 3 of my 26 guitars aren't gibson / epiphone. And I love my new SG standard, it sounds great clean or dirty and the neck has such a great feel to it. BUY IT

Ok, I got mine in '05 but i figured I would write a review anyway. Amazing guitar! I couldn't imagine playing anything else. Extremely sturdy and very slim with excellent hardware. Intonation was perfect when i got it, but I have had it set up 2 times just to have them check everything and all that. Plays like a dream. Sounds better than any guitar on the market in my opinion. ALL BOW TO THE KING! Buy this guitar and you will see as I did, simply amazing. I would never want to have any other guitar for the rest of my life!

I'm one of those people who normally dislikes the big guitar makers, however, the lefty SG I received has made a Gibson believer out of me. Perfect intonation from the factory, very rare for a lefty. Not a mark or flaw on the guitar. It also looks twice as good as the photos, mine is a much richer, darker shade of cherry than the pictures-- very vintage looking. The pickups sound amazing (very versatile)& the body & neck feel great. Anyway, I don't write reviews unless I'm blown away. I've owned at least 40 lefty guitars & I'm kicking myself for not buying this sooner. Definitely worth the price.
