In 1983, I bought a Gibson Special - SG shape, stellar sound, one of those guitars that when I wasn't using it, a friend wanted to take it out. Beautiful neck, hot pickups, versatile, great sound. This Gibson SG Special looks identical. If so, BUY IT! Be the envy of your friends, as I have been for 25 years!

This axe is loaded. A pure tone machine. It has a sleek and easy feel. As with all my Gibson guitars, I had to invest in the installation of Sperzel Locking Tuners and a Tone Pros Locking Bridge and Tailpiece. These hot rod modifications help keep the guitar in tune. Outside of that, once tuned up and the neck settles, this guitar is heaven. I am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase and will cherish this instrument for life.

Really nice guitar for the price. Takes a little while to figure out the pickup selector. Outstanding diversity in sound. I would recommend changing out the bridge for a 498 or '57 plus to get a little extra gain and sound.

I really love this guitar. Im going to start by saying that. PROS: Made in USA-Real Gibson Tone-Very Versatile-Tone Pros Hardware-Cheaper than a standard

CONS:Wish the bridge pickup was a 498-Doesn't tune amazingly (get grovers)-Confusing Pickup System at first.

I own a gibson les paul studio and it was different and for me better. My pickup selector was wired backwards which wasnt fun to learn. Still this is a great guitar but I wouldnt use it live I would use it more for studio work.

i've had this guitar for about a month or two now, and it's holding up pretty well. the toggle switch came a lttle loose an i get a little more feedback than my les paul, but it has a great tone, maybeeee you should switchc the pickups to emg's but other than that its a great buy. if you wanna here a sample of hat it can do, check out my band among the attration, an we have videos with the guitar on youtube in case you wanted to see it in action.
