Gibson Craftsmanship? Where is it?

My brother recently purchased one of these models, and I'm sad to say that the guitar is poorly made. He had it stored in the Gibson hardshell case, leaning up against a wall. The case slid and fell to the floor. When opened, much to my brother's dismay, he discovered that the guitar's neck had snapped near the headstock. The guitar is now destroyed, and we'll be contacting Gibson in the hopes of receiving some sort of replacement, in addition to complaining about it's poor construction. We had heard from several reputable local shop owners about Gibson's poor craftsmanship and how its steadily declined over the years, and we now realize that it was true. Needless to say, we won't be buying Gibson in the future. While we feel that the upmost care should be taken when investing in any sort of musical instrument, particularly in the premium price range of Gibson, something like this simply should not happen. That is the whole point in getting a hardshell case. Please take these points into consideration when buying any Gibson product, and keep an open mind when you're ready to purchase your next guitar.

Angus Young on roids

I have been playing since I was 15 and have always been into Angus Young an all those Sg's he has played. I was actually looking at getting the LTD Viper 400, since it had the basic SG shape and the Active EMG pu's. This guitar has delivered and in a big way! I am by no means an expert on the guitar, but the set up was rather painless and after a set of heavier strings, I was off and running. I am playing through a Peavey XXX 112 with no effects other than the gain on the amp and this fiddle sounds awesome. The only thing I don't like is the matte black finish is rough to say the least and that finish creates some drag sliding up and down the neck.

Killer sound with a killer look

This guitars looks are through the roof. They are ready to rock and ready to create noise, like you should be when you pick this guitar up. Its a great deal because the EMG pickups are amazing and are great for heavy playing. It of course is a little pricey but it is a killer guitar thats worth it, after a guitar like this, there is no else.

Sg Gothic II

I don't actually have a Sg gothic II, but I do have a gibson sg gothic I. With the first gothic, i replaced the stock seymour duncans that it came with, with the Zach Wylde Emg 81, 85's and put them in the same way this Gothic II has them set up. So for the most part, I am now playing the same exact guitar. I loved it with the original seymour duncans, and I love it even more with the EMG's. Great guitar, and ever since I have played SG's, I haven't turned back.

Seriously Slammin' SG

Serious tone. Serious looks. Serious feel. I've played it. Love the range on the EMG's (gnarly blues to metal). But a cheap gig bag for a $1000 guitar is an insult and a ripoff. Seriously.
