The sound is worth a thousand words. This guitar is the greatest. I play blues and Jazz, and have had this "box" for a while. When I play it, I don't think about what I am doing. It just comes out.

I traded the Satin finish one for this one. The Satin finish 335 is a great guitar but this one is far superior. No tuning problems here, the Grover tuners it comes with, are very precise so its quite easy to tune and most important it stays in tune. Flawless finish, very comfortable neck and the 57 humbuckers give you what you expect an amazing mind blowing tone. Some people dont like the big body and go for the 339 or 359 instead and its understandable this guitar can be unconfortable if you play sitting down, but lets face it no active guitar player has only one guitar. If you play Blues, Rock or even Jazz, this is the right guitar for you.

This guitar will not stay in tune. I've had it a year now, it's been reset twice, I put grovers on it instead of custom pegs and went from 10's to 12's and you still cant play it for more than 4 minutes without the G or B strings going completely out of wack.

I own this beautiful guitar, and an Epiphone Dot.

I bought this guitar tonight - I stumbled onto it in a shop while looking for "my" ES-335. It's awesome! I also own a Les Paul Standard 50's neck, a Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS and a couple project guitars including an Epi Dot. If you are on a budget, find a good Epi Dot, and then double the price to add a case, put in 57 classic pickups, replace the pots & switches and get a good setup. You'll have a grand or more in it and it still won't be this wonderful 335, but it will play decently and perform well. The Gibson neck is SOOOOOO much better than a Dot. I also have a Gibson USA Les Paul (again, better neck). I own 6 guitars, 3 are american made quality products. This one is both the best, and the most expensive of the three. The finish is PERFECT - 0 flaws upon review under bright light. I feel good about it and I love the guitar.

Gibson Custom ES-335 is the Best!

I recently purchased a cherry red Custom ES-335 with figured top and highly recommend this guitar to any classic rock or blues/jazz players. It's the third ES I've owned and the first two wouldn't stay in tune and were difficult to play. This one has just the right neck angle and plays like butter. Sounds great through all of my Fender amps. The Burstbucker pickups drive by Custom Vibrolux to beautiful crunch at volume of 4 or greater. I gig with this guitar regularly and favor it over my LP Standard and Strats. I also own an Epiphone Dot and while that is a really nice guitar for the money, there is an audible difference because of the maple neck of the Epi vs the mahogany neck of the Gibson. Finish and fretwork are perfect and it plays great with 10's ( I heartily recommend the Gibson Vintage Reissue strings...they last forever). If you lust after one of these guitars, don't delay, it is well worth the money.
