Gibson USA's Les Paul Studio Raw Power is the Les Paul in its most basic form, yet built like none other before. It starts with a highly resonant lightweight chambered maple body with a matching traditional carved maple top, resulting in a more articulate, bright tone. A maple fingerboard gives each played note a snappier response. The Raw Power Les Paul comes in a variety of satin 'nitro' finishes. All the rest of the basics remain the same: 22-fret solid maple neck, a volume and control knob for each pickup, one three-way toggle switch, Grover Kluson-style green key tuners and Gibson's pioneering Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. The new Les Paul Studio Raw Power from Gibson USA is solid. It's dependable. And most of all, it's affordable—without any compromises. Includes Gibson gigbag.

A Les Paul Sleeper

I saw it. I played it. I bought it!! And you should too! This is truly a "sleeper"...WOW...what sound, what playability, what a nice Gibson and all at the VERY BEST price for a REAL Les Paul!!! Don't let the maple fretboard fool you that this is some sort of gimmick. It's not. The fretboard really adds to the sound in a "sweet-bright" way. The rest of the guitar: the body, the neck, the pick-ups, etc. are all of high grade quality. Being made of maple, this guitar is a different bird, but, after owning several Les Pauls in my lifetime, I must say, this is real beauty of a Les Paul. I bought the model with Natural finish and gold hardware and am very pleased with the fit, finish, and overall workmanship for a Gibson in this price range. A "sleeper"? You betcha!!! Buy it today!!! This guitar sounds great for all styles of music! Well done Gibson!!!

Nice Bright Tones

Well I saw this at my local guitar store the maple neck spoke to me. I tried it and to my surprize is really sounded good. I know alot of Les Paul purists hate this model but me being a Fender guy loves it. I wish it came with a hard case but I'll buy one for it. I have the natural finish. The finish coating is a little thin but is very smooth, not like the faded series which look and feel like they forgot to complete the painting process. If you always wanted a Les Paul but like maple necks, give this a try.

Great Guitar

I played this guitar at a music store today. The guitar is a bit heavier than the standard LP studio. It almost seems as if it wasn't chambered. Sounds great playing classic rock through a Vox ACTV4. One note of caution on finish: I was playing the satin white finish version of this LP and when I was done playing, the dye or clothing fibers of my bright blue t-shirt were embedded on the back of the guitar. I tried rubbing it off with my fingers, but no go. I guess the thin nitro finish is lightly sticky. By this I would guess that the finish is going to wear down fast. You'll have the 'vintage' look with all your shirt colors in the back of the guitar.
