The arrival of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar in 1983 offered guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including a carved top and humbucking pickups. Its simple yet elegant design quickly helped it become the most popular model in the Les Paul Series. Cutting-yet-rich tone—the hallmark of the Les Paul—pours out of the 490R and 498T Alnico II magnet humbucker pickups, which are mounted on a carved maple top with a mahogany back. The faded finish models are equipped with BurstBucker Pro pickups and a mahogany top. The Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar includes a Gibson hardshell case (Faded and satin finish models come with a gig bag) and a limited lifetime warranty.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar Features:

  • Carved maple top and mahogany back (Mahogany top on faded finish models)
  • Mahogany neck, '59 Rounded Les Paul
  • Rosewood fingerboard (Ebony on Alpine white)
  • Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar
  • Chrome or gold hardware
  • 490R and 498T Alnico 2 magnet humbucker pickups (BurstBucker Pro on faded finish models)
  • 2 volume and 2 tone knobs, 3-way switch

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar Includes:

  • Gibson hardshell case (Faded and satin finish models come with gig bag)

My first Gibson

This is my first Gibson. I have been playing for about 4 years, but just started playing electric more recently. I love this guitar! I always wanted a Gibson, and now that I have one I am very pleased. I may never part with this guitar.

The combination of features in this guitar is perfect for the player who is looking for a quality American made instrument. Gibson uses fine tone-woods, and their pickups are some of the world's finest. If you're looking to not spend your life saving, but still want a good guitar, then this is a wonderful choice!

THE Best Guitar in the World!

When I received the 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio for my birthday, I was beside myself with joy. I could not believe how clear the tone was, and the 50's round neck totally helped my small hands. Also, it was least expensive and more lightweight than a Standard model. It has gorgeous gold hardware, which makes the alpine white finish stand out. It makes it look like a million bucks. Kudos, Gibson!!

Sweet Sounding Guitar!

I purchased one of these a few days ago, and I chose the Wine Red model with gold hardware. The finish is just amazing, and so glossy. The gold plating looks gorgeous now (hope it holds up!). My guitar did not come set up at all, the neck being severely back-bowed. The truss was was loosened and now it plays better. This didn't bother me at first, because every guitar I have purchased new has had to be tweaked at least a little. I love the feel of this guitar! Like others have said, the neck does get a sticky or gunky feeling, but only after playing the guitar for a few hours straight. This hopefully will go away as the finish cures fully. The sound impressed me, being able to go from a growl, to full on crunch, and back to the smoothest, richest clean tone. It feels like a quality product, but only time will tell. I have several Fender's that are 30+ years old, and play like the day they were born, and I hope that 30 years from now I will be able to say the same for my new Les Paul! This is my second Gibson, my first being the reissue Melody Maker ( a great, fun guitar BTW). If it lasts, I will love it forever and NEVER part with it. The lifetime warranty seems reassuring, but I have not dealt with Gibson on any warranty issues before, so I cannot comment on the usefulness of this warranty. My main complaint is the price....WHY does this thing cost more than the SG Standard?!?!

A year in: Still loving it!

I purchased the Faded Maple top finish about a year ago and I really wanted to review it after playing so long with it. The satin finish is amazing, the neck is very easy to play. It also gives the guitar a "classic" or "vintage" look without the nicks and dings of an "antiqued" guitar. I have had numerous listeners come up to me and ask me how I got ahold of such an old guitar in that great of condition (it's a 2008). The pickups are just delicious coming through my 18 watt tube amp. Very coherent at low volumes and gives a nice growl at the high end. The tuners are great and vintage looking. The only problem I have with the guitar (honestly) is that when I use 10's, it tends to "tink" when tuning up. Other than that, I wouldn't trade it for anything! If you want a classic guitar, this is it! Beautiful.

Great Gibson for price

Tried this guitar out in a guitar store and instantly fell in love with the way it felt and played. Walked out with the faded cherry finish model which I was skeptical about at first but absolutely love it now. The pickups are good for blues, cleans, and ok for heavy distortion, but not quite there for metal. I replaced them with chrome EMG 81, and 85 to make the perfect guitar for me. It is a very lightweight mahogany with neck-thru body. Great american made guitar.
