Heritage Cherry Sunburst Honey Burst Desert Burst Light Burst Ice Tea, Back Headstock

The Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus electric guitar has all the traditional features you expect from a Les Paul: mahogany body and set neck, figured maple top and a pair of Gibson's awesome '57 Classic humbucker pickups. The Plus on this guitar is the gorgeous, figured maple top—just the right touch on this iconic rock machine. One not-so-traditional improvement—the neck has been dressed by Gibson's Plek machine, a computer-controlled robot that analyzes the neck, files the frets, and cuts the slots on the nut to a hundredth of a millimeter accuracy for optimal action and intonation without string buzzing.

I borrowed the guitar from my friend,it was really great, the pickups, the finish all is well. So I decided to buy, I asked my friend what's the price. DAMN! Trust me, it's not worth it.

Dissapointing looks

Nice case, but when I first pulled out my traditional, the PINK tinted binding and plastic parts were a major slap in the face (similar to what snot green inlays are to LP Classics...yuck). I then turned the guitar over and was slapped again with a blatant and ugly seam between the two mismatched mahogany pieces. Everything else was quality and acceptable, but it's annoying that in order to get the sound, quality, PLUS looks you expect from Gibson, you have to pay AT LEAST a grand more for their custom shop models.

Best Production Les Paul

I bought this guitar becasue everything was perfect about it. I played it and knew it was going home with me. I sold my 2005 LP Standard I bought new after I got this LP. The '57 pups were such an improvement over the Burstbuckers, I can't imagine why anyone would even think of swapping the '57s out for those. Everything was perfect, the finish, the setup, the hardware, everything. It only needed a little oil on the fretboard (I live in a dry climate) and a minor neck adjustment (again due to climate.) The action is the best of any guitar I've owned, and I've had dozens of USA Fenders and Gibsons. It has been my #1 since I got it, and I was a Fender guy. This guitar beat out two of the VOS/Historic Gibsons I played that night, if I had to sell all my guitars, and keep one, this would be it, no question.

Lives up to the legend

I was at first reluctant to fork over the money necessary to purchase this beast, but I can now say that I am SO glad I did. The action and intonation were nearly perfect straight out of the box (It was even still in tune from the factory when I got it!), finish was flawless, and the sound was absolutely amazing. Every tone you could ever want for Jazz, Country, Blues, Rock, Metal, etc. is easily attainable with this guitar. I now understand why almost all guitar-gods play/have played one of these babies during their career. This will be my go-to guitar for years to come.

I went to a music store a little while back and played a traditional Desseert Burst. It was awsome and sounded great. Its sustain was sweet and it has the beast tone EVER. If you put on the neck pickup and turn down all the tone andturn up all the volume the guitar gives you and Eric Clapton/Cream tone.
