Very nice guitar and weighs 4 pounds lighter than my 1975 Les Paul Standard. The balance is perfect. My SG's will drop as soon as you let go of the neck but this one is balanced perfect. It is so comfortable to play when you have to do a show for longer than 2 hrs. The grind and crunch are in between an SG and a standard Les Paul. Overtones and octave jumps can be had on command. Like my Flying V, I can access the fret board with ease to the last fret with the double cutaway. I use it through vintage 100w Marshall stacks and the rythems are solid and crunchfull and the leads will cut through and split your face wide open. The finish is beautiful (I bought the transparent red) and the flaming on the top is very pronounced. It sounds great with either GHS boomers or Di Adderio 9's or 10's. I have tried both but I am using 9's on most of my guitars now. It weighs 7.9 pounds so it is comfortable compared to my 12 pound Les Paul standard. Hey, Gibsons are expensive but you get what you pay for. I went down to the store with every intention of buying the other model with the P90'S but when I plugged in to a stack at the music store, this one blew that one away. Buy it...and "Git er Done"

Ok, I've had this guitar since '91 and never a complaint! I'm especially drawn to the 60's neck and simplicity of operation. No guitar I've ever owned or played feels like this guitar. Being in a recording environment often you want the most tone options with the least amount of thought required. Sounds great+Looks great+Plays great=Perfect! This axe is PERFECT.

I just bought the Les Paul Standard DC Plus. I got the Honetburst model. WOW... I am floored by the quality and beauty of this instrument. The beauty alone is worth the money. It plays like a dream. The neck is perfectly straight. I took it straight from the box; tuned it and played the next 4 hours non-stop and only had to retune it twice. That was only because the Brite Wires (actually not bad for a brand new set of strings) were new.
This is the best guitar I've EVER played. No joke.
I've played plenty Les Pauls but must have simply got a total 'cherry'. If I had shopped 20 music stores and played 100 different guitars 'hands on' I couldn't have gotten this lucky.
The tone played through my tube amp was very dynamic. I went from hot country to sweet 70's rock with a flip of the switch and a turn of the tune knob. Played through my POD it became even more inspirational. I was truly playing new music on it within 20 minutes. The quality is a value that far exceeds the expense. No remorse whatsoever.
