I picked up this guitar and just started to mess around and I was blown away, not by the volume, but by the depth of the tone and how well it went along with vocals. Just incredible.

After collecting a bunch of Rosewood guitars, I figured it was time to try out a Mahogany for quiet, in-home, sometimes late night playing. I settled on the Hummingbird Modern Classic and I couldn't be happier. Whoever said this guitar was matched to the human voice is right. Unplugged, this guitar is not going to have tremendous volume, but it sure does sound sweet and is a perfect accompaniment to vocals.

I had heard plenty of stuff about spotty Gibson quality, but mine showed up in pristine condition. It really is a thing of beauty if you're into this kind of thing. One thing that I like is that my Hummingbird is not as "red" as others I have seen. It really is more golden, which I prefer. But if you're looking for a "red" one, this isn't it.

As others have said, action is a little higher because of the short scale length, but it's still awesome. The Grovers on it are solid, but don't add much to the vibe. Still, I prefer them to plastic Keystones, but I may change them later. The electronics seem ok, nothing special, but I'll run through a DI to dial it in better.

All in all, I'm very happy with my Hummingbird and look forward to making a lifelong friend out of it.

I went to the music store planning on a 500 or 600 dollar guitar, then it all changed when I saw and played this amazing guitar. I have played for about 6 years now. You can go from jamming out to soft songs and it sounds amazing either way. I highly recommend this guitar

So I was between the Dove and Hummingbird . . . both had great sound and both played phenomenal, but I was, for some reason, attracted to the Hummingbird. It's sound is the perfect rich tone and everytime a chord is struck, it lights up with life! It's such a beautiful guitar that I'm 200% satisfied with!

Love my Hummingbird

Ever since I saw a picture of Keith Richards playing a Hummingbird on the album High Tide and Green Grass, I've wanted one. At the time I saw it on that album, I was a young teen teaching myself guitar on an $85 don't know what. I had to have it. Took me 25 years but damn worth every cent. Truely a legend, fun to play, superb action and sublime simplicity. I don't know how they build them this good!
