A Custom Shop rendition of a blast from the past.

The SG originally was intended as a Les Paul redesign and addressed what many considered the 2 main issues players had with the Les Paul: weight and upper fretboard access. Les Paul himself didn't like it so the Les Paul stuck to its original style and the new Les Paul design was renamed the SG Standard. Even though Les Paul didn't approve of it, countless rockers loved it and made it one of all-time hard rockin' favorites. This is the early '60s deluxe model.

Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) Series instruments, the SG Custom VOS is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitrocellulose finish treatment gives it the patina of a gently aged vintage guitar. Includes Gibson Custom Shop case and a certificate of authenticity.

I have owned many SG's and this is the one to have. I play this guitar through two legacy stacks, huge rack of studio gear along with a pedal board. At 90 DB it sounds amazing. This guitar will blow your mind. Tell you the truth, I don't care how much it cost, it's a life time of a beautiful thing. Go for it !!

This guitar was perfect, I borrowed it from my guitar teacher, it was great! good rock sound, I really felt the sound. Damn, and REALLY beautiful. I took it to a gig with one of my bands, they loved it and it really played well! If you got the money and love SG's and old school rock you will love THIS baby!
