Haynes Burst, Angle Haynes Burst, Knobs Haynes Burst, Strap Lock Warren Haynes with Guitar 1 Warren Haynes with Guitar 2 Warren Haynes with Guitar 4

The Inspired By Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard features a solid mahogany body with a carved plain maple top, a one-piece mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard. Burstbucker pickups provide the big, warm sound for which Warren is famous. The finish, handpicked by Warren, is a beautiful burst whose color is somewhere between lemondrop and iced tea. The included CAE Sound preamp has a unity-gain buffer that, when activated, maintains a consistent tone when volume is lowered. It also preserves signal strength and quality when running through multiple effects. It was important for Warren to have balance between the pickups, to have a smooth sound from the neck pickup, and that when you flip the pickup switch, it doesn't sound like you just switched guitars. He also felt strongly that the bridge pickup never bite your head off. This Inspired By Standard is very successful on all accounts!

Single ply cream binding on the top and fingerboard, reissue trapezoid inlays, a bone nut, nickel plated hardware, amber top hat knobs and vintage tuners unite to make this one beautiful axe. Schaller strap locks keep it safe.

From his start with country hell raiser David Allan Coe, to 16 years with the Allman Brothers, to the heavy and melodic improvisation of Gov't Mule, Warren Haynes has blazed a trail that draws on the best of American music. With the voice of an old-school soul shouter and the guitar prowess of a legend, Haynes is both a formidable bandleader and a blistering sideman. And with his carefully crafted Les Paul Standard, the Gibson Custom Shop is proud to welcome Warren into the Inspired By series of great artists and great guitars.

I never write reviews, in fact this is my first, but after buying this guitar I felt I had to say something. At first I admit I had my doubts about how close this would be to the actual warren haynes guitar, and so I keot looking around for a different LP with a similar look. But, after finally giving in and buying it I can only say, simply put, this is the greatest guitar ever built. The finish - and don't judge it by the pictures, it's a million times nicer in person - is outstanding. When you look at it from a distance it looks like a prized piece of treasure, like it should be in a museum or something. Class to the fullest. Second, the sound is amazing. With a nice fuzz you sound just like jimmy page, and flip the switch to treble and you can make it scream to no end. Your fingers slide so smooth down the fretboard, and the strings it comes with feel great. Overall, amazing range of sounds, rediculous playability, and an unmatched look for those like me who hate that stupid pick-guard. Buy this guitar and don't look back...

just for the record, i do not own this guitar. i was in nashville at the gibson showcase and they have every guitar they make down there. this thing caught my eye. i plugged it up to a little practice amp with decent distortion and this guitar rocked. i own 2 gibson les paul studios and i am an avid gibson guy, this guitar felt like an old friend.

One of the hottest made plain top's from the factory ever - finished thin & aged slightly already - extra features not usually found from the factory thanks to Warren but in keeping with the reverence of the Les Paul many of the best factory features left in - plain top & it has the tortoise shell dots on the side of the neck like in a 56 Darkburst and loaded with factory Burstbuckers (GOOD Fralin rivals) when you play a guitar and you just know its not going to let you down -- that's the feeling you get when you play one of these WHLP's - Fast Dive Bar pre 74' Rock N Roll to Winters/Waters/and the 3 KINGS BLUES !!! you can SKIN A LOT OF MULES WITH THIS SWEET 58 WHLP!!! it would be hard to part with this one - We LOVE IT & You will too !!!

I recently purchased this guitar at a charity silent auction, signed by Warren, and I must confess, I had low expectations for this guitar. But after plugging it in and hearing the beautiful warm tone of these Burstbuckers, I decided Warren Haynes had struck a homerun with this guitar. I also own an Epiphone Elitist with "Gibson Quality" Burstbucker 1 & 2s, but after hearing this, I wonder why I ever bought that without hearing ACTUAL Gibson Burstbuckers. This guitar is beautiful, tone and appearance, and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. It comes with the strap locks, which was nice, and very much needed and wanted with this guitar!

The tonal quality is outstanding, eespecially for a reissue. A lot of the time when one purchases a reissue, the body doesn't resonate with the same singing voice as the originals do, but this guitar definitely stands out as an exception to the rule. This guitar doesn't need a skilled musician - it plays itself...
