The Chambered 1958 Les Paul Reissue VOS (Vintage Original Spec) Electric Guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop has the great features, tone, and looks that made the original '58 Les Paul a classic, but with an ultra-light body! The Chambered '58 reissue guitar features a carved maple top, mahogany back, and one-piece mahogany neck with rounded '50's neck profile, single ply cream binding on the top and fingerboard, reissue trapezoid inlays, nickel plated hardware, and an original ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge.

The Gibson Burstbucker Pickups used in the Chambered '58 are historically accurate "Patent Applied For" replicas with an airy tone and unbalanced coils. A medium output Burstbucker 1 is used in the neck position, while the Burstbucker 2 in the bridge position has a slightly hotter output. Both have unpolished magnets and non-potted coils like the original "Patent Applied For" pickups.

This guitar is just amazing. The weight is just perfect and its tone is well balanced. Not to mention the neat cherry sunburst finish with its aging cosmetics. When I plugged it into my Marshall it just recreated the Duane and Dickey sound from the album " Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore". I really recommend this beauty if you want to play some serious Blues/Rock like your guitar heroes.

Really, It's so easy to bash Gibson these days for the prices we're asked to pay for some of there instruments. But the truth is, sometimes it really IS worth paying those high price tags for there products. This Chambered L.P. represents the best example of their work I've ever see, heard or played! Having years of experience as a collector, a music retailer (at one point) and a gigging musician for more than 40 years, I can tell you for sure this guitar (I bought one of the first ones in Iced Tea...) is worth MORE than they're asking for it! Cut lawns, sell that old motorcycle collecting dust in the garage: BUT GET ONE OF THESE BEFORE THEY'RE GONE!

People, I gotta tell ya, this LP is much better than I had hoped for. I've been playing guitar (professionally) since 1967; I've owned many LPs (including a Guitar Trader reissue and an immaculate '68 LP...), and this is far and away (and easily!) the best one I've ever owned! When you've been around for awhile, you learn to either talk yourself into something (so you don't feel silly...), or out of something for the same reasons. I've been working on guitars (professionally, at one time...) for 35 years, and I can ALWAYS find something that needs a bit of tweaking, ya know? Not this time. Looks REAL; plays like butter; and sounds like ,well, Fresh Cream or Bloomfield (whatever you want...). Try it, you'll like it...
