Ice Tea, Back Ice Tea, Close Angle

This stunning, more-vintage-than-vintage Les Paul started life as a '54 Reissue, but the iced-tea burst finish is pure Custom Shop! The result is a cool-looking variation on the 1954 Standard we know and love. With a Les Paul and the Gibson Custom Shop, anything is possible!

The one-piece, wraparound bar bridge/tailpiece on this Gibson Custom Shop '54 Les Paul was developed and introduced by former Gibson president Ted McCarty. Although not a guitarist himself, McCarty was responsible for several innovations that would change the course of guitar playing forever. This stud bridge/tailpiece gave the player much more control over intonation and improved tone and sustain.

The soapbar P-90s on this Gibson Custom Shop '54 Les Paul generate the crisp yet warm tones that only genuine P-90s can. The maple top with wrap stopbar adds bright resonance and clarity while mahogany back and long-tenon neck warm things up. Bound rosewood fretboard with pearl trapezoid inlays and pearl logo inlay add a little visual elegance to the already-stunning finish.

A Wonderful Instrument!

I've had my Ice Tea Burst R4 for several months now. It's a real player's guitar. The big, fat, early '50s neck is substantial but quite manageable even with my small hands. The tone is just what you'd expect: nice, full sound on the neck pickup, a snarky bite on the bridge pickup, with wonderful spank on the in-between. Nicely fretted and set up perfectly right out of the box.

The appearance is outstanding. The Ice Tea finish looks much better than the Goldtop IMO. (Mine has a one-piece maple cap, and you should be jealous.)

All around a wonderful guitar and, while expensive, worth every penny.

Gibson Does It Again!!!

I recieved this guitar about two weeks ago and it's fantastic. The intonation is perfect which surprised me due to the lack of an adjustible bridge. I purchased it for investment purposes since this truly is a very limited product from the Custom Shop. I wasn't planning on playing it out at gigs or away from home. I have several other guitars so I keep this one as a treat when I want to play something special. The finish, assembly and mojo of this reproduction 1954 Les Paul is beyond words. It plays great and sounds great with the selector switch in any of the three positions. The P-90's give the sound that little bite humbuckers just can't quite deliver. These guitars are Custom Reserve Guitars so they are a little harder to locate than normal Les Pauls. Once you decide to buy, you'll be contacted and sent some photos of the serial numbers that are available so you can pick the exact guitar you are buying. They come with all kinds of goodies and I can assure you Gibson will not let you down. They bend over backwards to help thier customers way beyond what other companies offer. So do yourself a favor......buy this guitar because you'll fall in love with it and I know it will be a good investment if you take care of it. Good Luck and happy playing!!!!!

The Authentic Primal Les Paul Vibe

This is the original Les Paul as it was designed by Les himself. The pickups on this guitar produce a clarity and fullness unmatched by other guitars. I love the 58 RI and the 59 is exquisitely beautiful, but this is the raw howling animal that got the Rock era started.

When I saw this guitar I couldn't believe my eyes! An authentic Custom Shop Les Paul for under $3,000!!!! As a musician and collector I couldn't pass this one up even if it will not arrive for several weeks/months. The photos represent another masterfully created reissue Les Paul and I can't wait to see mine in person. I feel confident it will be a great playing and sounding guitar which will also be a fantastic investment. Once it arrives at my door I will have 29 guitars and I fully expect this one will be king of the hill!!! Thanks Gibson!!
