The two-pickup Les Paul Special was introduced in 1955 as an intermediate model, positioned between the low-cost Les Paul Junior and the Les Paul. Originally available only in a single-cutaway, TV-style limed mahogany finish, a double-cutaway Special and cherry red finish option were introduced in 1959. The 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cutaway is now part of Gibson's Vintage Original Spec series.

Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) Series instruments, the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cutaway VOS is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitrocellulose finish treatment gives it the patina of a gently aged vintage guitar. Includes Gibson Custom Shop case and a certificate of authenticity.

I've played this guitar on numerous occasions and i've really troed to like it, but this guitar just doesn't cut it.

This guitar looks ok, but it doesn't have a look that satisfies my eyes. The P90 picks uually sound good, but with this particular guitar they sound super thin and weak. It sound's like a strat with an active humbucker in the bridge with no bass and no treble with a dead battery.

Overall I don't reccommend this guitar. If you're looking for something to just have or collect then buy it, but if you're looking for a guitar to seriously play then I don't recommend it.
