Washed Cherry Faded Tobacco Iced Tea, Back Washed Cherry, Back Faded Tobacco, Back Iced Tea, Close Angle

The 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plain Top VOS guitar begins with a solid mahogany back and carved plain maple top. The one-piece mahogany neck is topped with a gorgeous rosewood fretboard that's adorned with acrylic trapezoid inlays with shape and color true to the original. Early '50s rounded neck profile delivers the vintage feel players love. BurstBucker 1 and 2 pickups deliver famous vintage Les Paul tone.

In an effort to jump start the steadily declining sales of the Les Paul model, Gibson abandoned the familiar gold finish and used a translucent, cherry sunburst finish which showed off the figured maple tops that were often used on Les Pauls. The renamed Les Paul Standard made its debut in 1958.

Vintage Original Spec series instruments receive a special nitro-cellulose finish treatment yielding the patina of a gently-aged vintage guitar while handcrafting enhances comfort and playability. Each VOS model has a solid mahogany back; historically accurate long-neck tenon for strength and sustain; and period-correct neck profile, hardware, and electronics.

I don't own this guitar, but I do play it at my local guitar center. Let me tell you, this guitar is probably one of if not the best guitar gibson has ever made. When you plug it into a Marshall plexi, it sounds amazing with the deep end and the tick and beefy notes it plays.

This is a great guitar. The sound and features is just absolutely great. It have a classic, thick 50's neck, which give the guitar a very fat and nice sound. The only negative thing to mention is that sometimes it goes very quickly out of tune.

The Gibson Les Paul 1958 VOS is the best guitar I've ever owned. Every single note, that is played on this great instrument, sounds absolute powerful and great. The playability is great (In my opinion) because I love the thick, round neck- the guitar feels fantastic. One of the things I love about this guitar, is the difference between the two humbucker... when you select the pickups with the toggle switch, it's not a huge sound step... it dosn't sound like a complete diffrent guitar. It's the perfect guitar for Blues and Rock till Hard Rock - greetings from Germany and sorry for my simpel english.

This may be the finest ax I have ever laid my hands on. With a growing collection of guitars including Fender, Gretch, Paul Reed Smith, and HML to name a few,the 1958 VOS is truly the flagship of the fleet. The tone is vintage and truly amazing. This guitar run through a Soldano Reverb o sonic and a Groove Tube Soul O 75 has a sound that is as sweet as it gets. A guitar this nice deserves a name, I call her Rosita. As far as price goes, you get what you pay for. Guys, life is too short for cheap gear. Stop messing around and play the good stuff, you wont regret it.

this guitar is awesome! my friend eddy has it and I've played it a few times and am just blown away by its quality and tone. It may be a little bit pricey but if you have a little bit more spending money and are looking for an all-around great sounding axe, then this ones for you.
