I've had this guitar for a little over 3 years now. The only problem I've had out ot it is the nut wearing out, which happens to every guitar eventually. Bone nut quickly solves that problem. Fantastic tone, amazing playability, even better looks. When being associated with a guitar player like Angus, I wouldn't expect anything less than what I got with this guitar.

I bought the Gibson Angus Young SG after seeing ACDC about five months ago and am NOT disappointed! The action is very low without creating buzz, allowing the player to emulate Angus' many single-handed solos. I run the guitar through a Marshall stack with the gain at 4-5 for a PERFECT ACDC sound. No need for pedals! The only minor downfall is that it falls out of tune relatively quickly with new strings, but if you don't change them frequently (like I do) it is really not a problem and stays in tune better with time.

For those about to rock

I received this guitar on September 15th, 2006, and will never forget that day. When I opened up the case, the guitar was illuminated in a golden beam of light that shined down from the heavens. Be warned, this is no ordinary SG. this IS THE guitar. I adjusted the action slightly with the bridge, and is now even better. The pickups are nice. You can play anything from hard AC/DC (which is what it is built for) to smooth mellow sounds. If you have the money for this guitar, I HIGHLY recommend it. And if you play it through a Marshall like me, its basically god.

Let me just tsart off by saying how enormously beautiful this guitar is. However even with a set up this thing wouldn't stay tuned for Hells Bells. There is no way these vintage Kluson tuners can work. They don't. The Lyle Vibrola is fine, just remove the handle and leave it be. Gibson Vintage Keystone tuners work much better and that's what this expensive guitar should have come with stock.

Best Guitar Ever

I got this for Christmas from my dad, and it is, and will forever be the best gift that I have ever recieved (tied with my JCM 2000).

I've wanted this guitar since I started playing (Angus was the one who inspired me to start) and had been planning on how to get the money for this guitar for years. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay for it.

The pickups are perfect for vintage tones, especially if used with a kicka** Marshall (my JCM 2000 DSL stack gets the job done). Yes the tuners suck, but that can be easily fixed by putting new tuners on. Also, the lyre vibrola isn't much use, so we took it to a repair shop and got a stop-bar tailpiece put on it. Tune's much better. However, there are then some holes in the back of the guitar. To fix this we simply knocked the vibrola part itself off of the original tailpiece and screwed this on, and it looks amazing. (Derek Trucks does this). It tunes perfectly now. The neck is also extremely thin and fast as hell, and I'm addicted to it like a druggie loves crack.

In the end, perfect guitar for classic rock, prog rock, or anything vintage-esque. PERFECT!
