Amazing instrument

I tried Martin, Taylor, Guild , Takamine, Larivee and Gibson. This guitar was my favorite...I already own a Larivee which I really like and was tempted to buy another but I just kept going back to the Gibson. It plays, sounds and looks amazing, tunes easily and stays in tune. Its a joy to play and I find it hard to put down. I've seen a few reviews that say its too expensive but to me its worth every penny.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Up until now I've been a Taylor only guitarist. I was wanting something different for a change so I went in to the local shop and tried everything on the wall. The Songwriter Deluxe was sitting all alone in the corner, so I picked it up last....and next thing I know I was pulling out the credit card. What a sweet sounding instrument. I still love my Taylors, but the Songwriter has earned a well-deserved place in the stable. Play it and you'll buy it.

My Ultimate Guitar

Wow. Picked one up on my lunchbreak and played it for 90 minutes straight. Had to have it and bought it on the spot. This guitar just sings through a good amp. A little flat w/out the amp, but I have other truly acoustic guitars to fall back on. My friends marveled at the tone and commented my playing was better. I laughed and told them it came pre-programmed with 200 songs and half of them believed it. This is a great guitar all the way around, from the electronics to the finish. I have a hard time playing anything else. Over the past 30+ years, I have played them all and this is the one.

My uncle just started playing guitar, and if you know anything about my uncle, he has to have the most expensive thing he can find. This man doesn't know anything about guitars, yet he bought an American Fat Strat, the Songwriter Deluxe EC, a Blues Junior Tube amp, and another little practice amp. Rediculous. So just this Easter, my family and I went to grandparents' and my unlce brought his Songrwiter Deluxe EC along. I played it just to show him up, and I was amazed at the tone. It had a really full-bodied sound with great lows and mids, while still having a great bright sound. Personally, I would never buy it. I mean...look at the price!

I went to the music store to pick up the Taylor I had ordered and when I got there I played some Martins and other Taylors and then the sales guy hands me the Songwriter Deluxe EC and I was blown away. I've had my Martin D-3532 since 1992 and had never considered a Gibson. WOW. I was so lucky to find this guitar, I will have it for life. Not only does it punch out the sound, it's a beautiful instrument and a work of art.
