What a little beauty.

My cj 165 actually looks like it has a Brazilian Rosewood back, with mirror matching halves that get very dark in the middle and actually appear to raise the clear coat, although that is not the case. It is beautiful, and the sound, is not to be believed. Pure and clear, with nice punchy lows. The action is too high for me out of the box, and the nut is sharp (like every Gibson I ever purchased new). For a set up price though, it'll be perfect as are the others. This is one heck of an instument, that will become a family heirloom. Beautiful. And one would never know it had electronics in it, unless you looked very hard.

I played all of the Gibsons and quite a few Martins and a couple of Taylors and this one had the deep sound I really wanted. The bass was great and the projection was really good. I spent an hour playing about 15 different guitars and this was the best, especially for the price.

The Gibson CJ-165 Rosewood is Alot of money for a guitar that sounds like a $100.00 guitar hardly any ring at all, dead sounding. Does not sound good picking or strumming. Looks great and great features, very clean if you want a guitar to show off. I,ve had this guitar about a month, bad mistake,Buy the J-45...
