HoneyBurst Back HoneyBurst

The Comanche Electric Guitar has a swamp ash body (alder on opaque finishes) with a gorgeous figured maple top. One-piece bird's-eye maple neck is incredibly well-finished; a tinted gloss gives it a vintage vibe and a glasslike smoothness. Jumbo frets make it amazingly easy to play. Deluxe guitar hardware includes a dual-fulcrum bridge and Schaller locking tuners. 3 MFD (Magnetic Field Design) Z-coil pickups deliver excellent, clear, cutting tones.

The patented Magnetic Field Design® pickups use a ceramic bar magnet installed underneath each coil, with soft iron adjustable pole pieces to transfer the magnetic field to the surface of the pickup. By contrast, traditional Alnico type pickups, such as used in the Legacy and George Fullerton models, use nonadjustable Alnico pole pieces leaving the only adjustment being pickup height. The Magnetic Field Design has this adjustment, but further offers individual adjustment of each pole piece, letting the player effectively adjust the output of each string on each pickup. Magnetic Field Design (MFD) yield about twice the output per wind, making the pickup quieter while allowing a greater overall output. The sound of Magnetic Field pickups is slightly warmer with a broader frequency response. One major Nashville session guitarist remarked that G&L Magnetic Field single-coil pickups sounded as balanced and sweet as his favorite old vintage Alnico equipped axe. The difference is that the MFD pickups sound that good right into his amp without all the EQ tweaking of his mixing console that made his other guitar sound so good. When he ran his G&L though his studio rig, he was truly amazed at the rich and warm, yet clear and sparkly sound.

Your last and only guitar

This is a revolutionary masterpiece. The range and versatiliy of this guitar should cancel out, pretty much everything you may already own. The Hybrid z pickups give you the best of both worlds. You get Bucker or single coil sound. No, it doesn`t jangle like a Rick but G&L does make hollow electrics. Strat & tele styles. If you cannot afford this guitar, find a dealer. G&L does make a foreign assembled Comanche. It is the same guitar with a slightly different color finish to establish it`s origin. No corners cut. Trust me. This is your last strat or solid body altogether.

Great Guitar!

I purchased my Comanche in 2001 and it arrived in flawless condition. The "green-burst" finish with wood binding made an amazing impression, even before I played it. It is a great guitar and well worthy of deserving a Tolex case sent standard with the G&L Invaders! The tonal range of the Z-3 pick-ups really sets this guitar apart! It is certainly a lifetime player!

Fantastic guitar

I have played for more years than I care to discuss, and I have played many, many different guitars over the years. For the last fifteen years I have been playing the same Fender American Standard Strat, I thought that it couldn't be topped for tone and versatility. Since buying this G&L my Fender Strat hasn't seen much use. The majority of the time I play the G&L through a very early model Music Man 210 sixty-five (again, the genius of Leo Fender), and the tone and versatility are amazing.

Hard to beat

Yes, the price is high, but compared with Fender's Artist series, you'll spend your money better with Leo. The Commanche at first seemed to have minor fret-buzz, but after several tunings -- a good break-in period -- it rings like a bell. The 12-inch radius is heaven, compared with Fender's curvier offerings. The Z pickups have to be heard - low noise and wonderful range with the 5-position switch plus toggle that adds more pickup combinations. Fit and finish were perfect. Case is study plastic -- mean to protect, not impress (you need tweed? Go elsewhere).

One Of The Best

This is a truely incredible guitar. I bought it about a year ago and it has not let me down. Keep in mind it is no metal guitar but if you like the Who, Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Floyd, even Alice in Chains, ect. this is the guitar for you. Mine is black with a matching headstock and it is stunning. With a five way blade and a mini toggle for pick up splitting thai guitar is even more versital than a strat. So if you like to play guitar then buy this ax.
