Grey, with Box

Robin Trower is known for tone, and the Robin Trower Signature Overdrive Pedal from Fulltone delivers a sonic effect truly worthy of its namesake. This pedal's got touch-responsive, huge-sounding sustain for days—and crystal clear when the guitar's volume knob is reduced for great live dynamics. This overdrive pedal sounds great with all of Trower's guitars. The front end of the pedal is specially tuned for those .012-.048 tuned-down strings. Robin's happy with the way it turned out. So give it a try. We think you'll be impressed.

Fulltone Robin Trower Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • Huge sustain and crystal-clear tone depending on volume
  • Hand-built to Robin Trower's exacting tonal standards
  • Three easy knobs for easy access to tonal tweaking

Put Trower's killer tone to work for your sound—add this signature stompbox to the cart now.

Trower Power

I run two Fender 5150 III heads and this pedal is not really doing anything with my system's sound that I liked sad to say. I play a higher gain sound though with humbuckers and this is probably geared for the single coil lower gain amp man. (or Woman). So I switched to my amp's channel 1 and lowered the gain and I still was not impressed compared to my Vox Saturator. For me anyway it is not worth the current asking price so I returned it.

The Robin Trower Overdrive Rocks!

A great overdrive pedal that works well with single coil pickups and strats. Used it with my Highway-One Strat, a G&L Legacy (Alder body with Seymour Duncan SSL-1s), and my John Suhr classic Strat... all of which interacted great with the pedal (producing with slightly different textured overdrive sounds, when run through a Grimaldi Tweed Amp 2x10, a Victoria Victorilux 3x10, and a Fender bandmaster head with an Avatar 2x12 cab with Texas heats). Pretty much nails the Robin Trower tone, give or take an EQ notch or tweek here or there; and does so without having to resort to the volumes necessary to generate that type of tone with a Marshall half stack alone... something I know the neighbors appreciate. As best as I can describe, it produces a controlled growl with a tight low end and vibrant low mids...couched somewhere between an overdrive and a distortion. Cut back on the guitar volume and it cleans up fairly nicely... allowing nuances in playing to cut through... so it is more than a one-trick pony if you work the guitar volume. Built like a tank... it's a Fulltone pedal -- Da! Perhaps its only shortcoming the price... about 60-70 dollars more than Fulltone's OCD pedal... but well worth it if you are looking for that elusive Troweresque vibe.

Beautiful, singing drive tone

I loved this pedal. I think it sounded on par with the Zendrive, if not better. I used it in front of my Fulltone OCD occasionally, and got a nice, thick distortion. On it's own, it has some serious growl, a great overdrive tone, and even a great distortion. It sounds similar to my HBE Powerscreamer, but not too similar. I love the tone, I wish they could have added more versatile features, but it definitely rocks out of the box.
