Good in low doses

I was really hoping this pedal would make my guitar scream , but if you turn any of the knobs ('cept the volume) past twelve it just turns muddy. It works well as a boost, but I was expecting a bit more punch and scream. the Hp and Lp thing really does make a dif , but like I said it's best as a boost.

If you are looking for a good boost and a vintage sound , you could really use this but don't expect to get a mad searing tone, nor "notes that last for days" as they say this thing can do. I've tried it on an epiphone les paul and an ltd with active emgs and to be honest it's best if you use this to minorly alter your tone and give you a vintage feeling.

A Go To Pedal For The Tone Tweeker In Us All

This is one of those little boxes that should be on everyone's "Must Have" list. Although what it does is fairly subtle, the OCD gives your signal a nice bump and brings out nuances in your playing and pick attack that without the box you probably wouldn't be able to hear. It works well with both Fenders and Marshalls, altough I think it favors Marshalls slightly, as it the tone of your guitar anhas more lows and mids and less treble, even though the box doesn't really "color" your tone (it brings out d amp without adding anything to it). For cleaner Blackface tones, check out Keeley's Blues Driver Phat Mod; with these two pedals on your board, you've pretty much got vintage tones covered where overdrive tweeks are concerned. Just be sure you're running these through a quality tube amp; through a solid state rig you won't get the best out of what both these boxes have to offer.

Perfect Overdrive

Amzing overdrive tone! I spent 3 hours in Guitar Center trying out every overdrive they had, and it came down to the OCD and the Tube Screamer. The next day, I sat down with both and decided on the OCD. The High power/ low power switch is what finally sold me on it over the Tube Screamer. On LP it sounds like the tube screamer, on HP it's the same thing with a little more grit!

Wicked Overdrive!

I was playing through a Vox Satchurator and was not getting the rhythm sound I was looking for mostly because of the wacky tone knob sweep from 0-tin in 1/8th of a turn. I love the sensativity to pick attack that the Satchurator has, but wanted a more versatile overdrive for rhythm playing and use the Satch for leads. The OCD is it! Very sensitive to pick attacks so I can use my picking to draw out more or less OD. This really is like having an overdriven tube amp on your pedal board. You get that crisp, distinctive separation between notes and that sparkle and response from your pick attack. ...and in comparison to the Satchurator (which really is amazing btw) the tone can be dialed in much better with the tone control having a more normal and quite diverse range. The OCD is nothing short of wicked!!!

This pedal is the real deal and yes it is all that! Works great when played through a high end tube amp at higher volumes. Very responsive to picking techniques and very versatile when rolling down your guitar's volume knob. A perfect unit for the dynamic guitarist that knows what good tone sounds like. Pricey but worth every penny.
