Powerful, professional quality sound in a lightweight, portable package.
Designed for the singer/songwriter, the SA220 Solo Performance System is a powerful, yet lightweight, system—providing exceptional sound quality and coverage in a wide variety of venues. 220 watts of clean, lightweight power drives a line array of six custom high-excursion speakers and a soft-dome tweeter. This unique combination delivers incredibly full sound, ultra-wide dispersion, and deeper sonic penetration than the common speaker cabinet. Better yet, the enhanced bass response of the custom-designed speakers means there's no need for a subwoofer.
With the SA220 system, the performer and audience hear exactly the same sound, meaning there's no need for separate wedge monitors or a combo amp backline. The SA220 is voiced for the singer/songwriter, acoustic instruments and vocals are projected with superb depth and clarity.
The ultimate in portability
The SA220 weighs only 25 lb., ships complete with a padded bag equipped with wheels, and includes a rugged speaker stand. Set up takes less than a minute, with only one trip to the car. Plus full-digital universal power means that its amplification system is ready to travel anywhere in the world (compatible with international power systems).
Features that performing musicians demand
Fishman didn't make the SA220 this portable by scaling back on features or tone. It's also equipped with two mic/instrument channels featuring high-quality preamps, each with 3-band EQ, phantom power, built-in reverb, effects loop, and feedback-fighting notch filter, and phase controls. In fact, Fishman included all of the prized elements of the Loudbox family amps and added a unique monitor feature designed to revolutionize an acoustic duo's ability to hear each other on stage.

I play classical and fingerstyle jazz with an emphasis on melody. I dont sing so I let the guitar do the singing for me. I do 150 shows a year ,mostly small venues like weddings, art openings and private parties. The Sa220 has taken 70 pounds and ten trips to the truck from me . I cant believe how easy this has made my gigging. I am 55 and just dont want to lift all the stuff needed to produce a quality sound. With the SA220 it all right in your hand. It takes 3 minutes to set up and your playing. The sound is crystle clear and the ease of finding the best sound is so simple because the SA220 is simple.
I play a Taylor NS72 and a Taylor 714 Ce with fishman on board blenders and man its tight . I even plugged my 1956 gibson es 175 d through it and smiled all the time I was playing.I miked my rameriz a-2 with a Rode nt a-1 and man all I can say wow!!
Dont try and over push this unit , its not built for that . Its perfect for a two channel player that plays in front of 100-150 people or less. I use the effects loop and tie in my peddles : I use a stage tuner,a Jamman and digital delay. And it all works fine. Use the frequincy response dials when you play at higher levels .These really work and you need to explore them . They are the ticket to great sound at high levels.
All in all I give the Fishman SA220 an A+. And I give Musicians Friend customer service an A + as well . They complement each other well.
If your looking for a great small gig 2 channel unit that can ease your back and give you CD quality sound ,the Sa220 is it. And the price very resonable especailly once you plug in!!!

I bought one of these Fishman Solo Amps a few months ago. I was looking for something that was easy to set up, and light weight, that could handle a Vocal Mic, Acoustic Electric Guitar & MP3 Player, which this unit does very well. I did look at the Bose L1... I didn't have a chance to A/B them side by side, but the Fishman, seemed to have a little more helpful things, like reverb, anti-feedback, and such. It's not for every room you'll ever play, but it carries very well, better inside than out side. The overall tone of my Martin Guitar, is excellent, nice crisp vocals, as for mp3 and back ground tracks, sometimes I wish I could have a sub woofer, but as for a one piece Pa system, with stand, it's a great little PA, but is limited on it's output! I still think it's a good buy for what it does, and overall I'm real happy with it. Been playing profesionally for over 40 years! Doc in Texas!

I had played through this in the Martin room at Guitar Center and it is what sold me on getting it. I had been using a Fender Passport 250 (hey, no one told me I shouldn't use it) and now that's going on Craigslist. I couldn't believe my ears. My tone-deaf friend said that it sounds like a CD is being played. It is the most crystal clear sound. I'm using a Seagul S6 and an AKG condensor mic thorugh a MX200 reverb unit and it is amazing. I'd like to say it is me...but really, it's the Fishman making it great. Love it!!

After haveing 2 back surgerys,Cancer Surgery,Open Heart Surgery, not counting 12 Stence around the heart and now a pace maker i had do choke down what i dident want to come to terms with no more shows no more carring equipment no more singing or playing the guitar in public or so i thought.
One day i came across the Bose unit pricey but sounded great but i held off and now im glad i did because along came the Fishman Solo still high in price so i thought untill i heard the quality then i knew it was worth it so i bought one a few weeks ago from Musicians Friend . It turns out i liked the features better on the Fishman there were more of them any way this is a great little system i can see it will work great for me in churches and med venue's and the quality of sound is out of this world with no feed back or at least not for me. So speeking to all that will hear if you cant do what you once could maybe you need a Fishman Solo to give you life again it sure helped me.Great Product You Cant Go Wrong In My Personal Openion.

Although I flinched at the price tag, I also am tired of buying amps by the pound. The unit is easily transported and only weighs 35lbs. I have played in small steakhouses and a large outdoor venue next to a highway (added a linear amp for that gig) and the sound is unsurpassed (everyone could hear me and yet they did not have to shout at each other). I plug an mp3 player in for backing tracks and use either a Godin or Cordoba electric classical. The sound is crisp, clean and penetrating without being overbearing. If you need a little more bottom (some "Chet" stuff does, you can monitor out to a small amp), however, I rarely need to do that. It fits into my trunk and the amp part is easily assmebled in 5 minutes (still takes me 15 because of all the gadgets). My wife liked the sound so much, she listened to all 3 verses of Sheik of Araby (usually she says it's enough after one verse). I have played Dixieland, Latino, Jazz, Acoustic Rock, and Country through the unit and achieved impressive results. Expensive, but this is no toy, it is an investment in your business.
