Based on Tim Armstrong's beat up old Sixties acoustic, on which he writes all the songs for the legendary punk band Rancid, the Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat acoustic-electric guitar is ready to slam its way into the mosh pit. Tim has given his acoustic some modern flair and style with pearl acrylic "Hellcat" logos on the 3rd, 5th, and 7th frets while a couple of skulls adorn the 12th fret. Other features include Fender FTE3-TN preamp with built in tuner, strap button, scalloped bracing, solid mahogany top and a look that will have you singing "Roots Radicals" till your Mohawk is ready for its next trim. Fender includes Tim's custom "Let's Go" guitar strap that perfectly complements this acoustic's edgy visuals.

This guitar is friggin' sweet. The slim body and neck makes it amazingly easy to play, while the all mahogany body give it the warm, full sound of a much bigger guitar plus, I really love the warmth of the mahogany. It sounds great plugged in, it has a really classic grity Fender sound and it's tough as nails, I can carry it to the beach while surfing and can carry it while skating. Basicly, you want an inexpensive, playable, quality guitar, this is the one.

By the way op ivy and rancid are two of my favorite bands.

the only negative thing i have to say about this guitar is that i really wish it wasnt a signature model with the cat inlay's. if it just had the skulls and they just had the old guitar look, i'd be absolutely sold on this guitar. i really like the fact that this guitar doesnt have the shiny gloss paint, that and the price are what's drawing me to it.

I deployed to Afghanistan and couldn't bring any of my guitars with me, thank God for musicians friend. I saw this guitar, and said "what the hey". I had to scrap the strings/steel cables that came on the guitar, and adjust the neck a little, but WOW does it play like a dream. Great sound, Great action, Great look, but hate the strap(looks cool, but feels like horrible). Overall great guitar for the price.

Tim Armstrong has been an inspiration to me as a musician and songwriter. Once I saw this guitar for sale I decided to get it. Great guitar for the money and I love it more and more everyday. More of a thinner style but that's okay because I wanted an acoustic that wasn't bigger than me. I am having the same problem finding a case like a lot of people. I've been looking at the (Martin 00 Series Thinbody Guitar Case) and the Martin 310CE Thinbody case. I think "SKB" might have somthing too.
