Great sounding amp. Vintage channel is...

Great sounding amp. Vintage channel is pristine clean but also fat and punchy. Burn channel provides great sounding tube overdrive. I play blues and classic rock and this amp is fantastic for that. I built custom speaker encl containing vintage 30's and it sounds great. Only complaint, the head does not have reverb.

The Super Sonic is a very unique amp. I look at it as Fenders version of Marshall's Vintage Modern. The amp gives you very vintage Fender tones with modern high gain also. The amp does not sound like the Marshall Vintage Modern which I also own but has that unique mass of tones from the 60s to now ready for you to use. At 60 watts is is amazingly loud when paired with a 4x12 cabinet. Vintage 30s work very well wit it.

The clean channel is fantastic as you can get those sparkeling clean Fender tones on the Vibro channel and that awesome Fender blues crunch from the Bassman channel. I think you should plan on buying a reverb pedal to help out this channel, I use a EH Holy Grail Plus in the loop with great results. Again very senstive tone controls that allow a wide range of classic Fender tones to be dialed in.

OK now for the gain channel, in my opinion you have everything from blues to metal. I am able to adjust the setting to mirror the tone from my 100 watt Marshall DSL, fantastic. Very unFender like, as the two gain controls allow for some great tones to be had. The harmonic feedback is easy to get at even bedroon levels.

This is another thing that I really like with this amp in the studio, while the amp will crank, you do not need to push it hard to get some great tube sounds, at 3 on the master you can get great cleans and gain, fantastic for recording.

I would highly recommend a full 4x12 cabinet with this amp to get everything out of it, it also sounds great with celestion lead 80s but I am going to stick to the Vintage 30s. If you need an amp that can give you vintage tones and more modern gain this is it.

This is an awesome piece of equipment. All the clean sounds are really good and the overdrive is extremely 'unfender' like - it's tight and dynamic. Everything about this amp seems like it was planned out right except...what..where's the reverb? I know not everyone uses it but from a cost effective and production standpoint: how can it be justified that this cost only a little less than the combo when you have a smaller cabinet, no speaker and no reverb tank and circuit. Reverb tanks aren't the biggest or most complicated components, was this really that hard a thing to include? If you like it, buy the combo!

I bought this amp last year and it is incredible... The clean is nice, the burn chanel is amazing. I never heard a great tone on any other amps I tried. With this amp, you can have a fully saturated sound, a crunchy one and many others that will always sound great... the versatility is amazing. The only thing that is wrong whit this amp is his power. I'm living in a appartement and I can not get all the rich tone of the tube without a power brake. But if you spent money by buying a power brake, this is just the best amp you can buy. The bassman chanel sound very great and if you like that texas tone, that blues overdrive like stevie ray or kenny wayne shepherd, this is the right choice! You got to try the bassman chanel at high volume, unbelievable!

This is an amazing amp. I think this is the only I time I have ever done a double take with my tone. I plugged in my Gibson Sg with P-90's and strummed a D chord, and I was completely blown away with the tone. It was one of the most beautiful cleans I had ever heard. I'm not a huge fan of the Vibrolux setting but the Bassman setting is amazing. The distortion on the amp was pretty good, but in that department I'm a Marshall guy. I really got it for the clean tone, since I have enough pedals to make a distortion I want. I already had a decent tone for using a solid state amp, but everything about it improved with this. I got the head and the 2x12 cabinet used at almost half price, but I would definitely have been willing to pay more. The only problem I had was that there was no reverb on the amp, which would have made it perfect. I reccomend this to anyone looking for a sparkiling clean tone and an amp that can take high gain at the same time.
