The Fender Standard Telecaster FSR Ash Electric Guitar combines the best of the old and new. Fender equips it with vintage noiseless single-coil pickups, shielded body cavities, medium jumbo frets, cast/sealed machine heads, and a 6-saddle strings-through-body bridge.

Since its introduction in the early '50s, professionals in all musical genres have relied on the Fender Telecaster for its powerful tone and smooth playability.

The vintage noiseless Telecaster pickups offer sound like a '60s Tele's without the 60-cycle buzz. They're made with the same Fender technology as the noiseless Strat pickups, but are voiced for traditional Telecaster tone. Special Alnico 5 magnets and enamel coated magnet wire along with Fender's Noiseless technology produce a uniquely quiet vintage sound.

The Fender Tele guitar's neck pickup has a nickel-silver cover for added clarity, while the bridge pickup produces the traditional twang you'd expect from a Fender Standard Telecaster. Each guitar pickup sports a very stylish Fender Noiseless logo.

New features on this classically cool Telecaster guitar include a tinted neck and a '70s-style logo. Fender includes a standard gig bag with the FSR Ash Telecaster.

I bought this guitar recently and got a great deal during October. Unless you're a guitar snob who can't get past this Tele's south of the border origin, you'll find this to be an amazing instrument with great tone, looks, and playability. It came set up perfectly for my tastes, and the VN pickups remove the unwanted 60 cycle hum. I love my Telecaster.

Very Nice Guitar

When I saw this guitar I just could not pass it up. Its a MIM tele that looks pretty vintage with the color and all, and with noiseless PU's. The quality is typical for a MIM Fender... which is to say its pretty good. Neck was nicely finished feels nice and fast, and the guitar was ready to play, I will do a set-up at some time but I'm in no rush. The first one I got from MF had nasty mineral stains on the ash grain under the finish... and it look really weird and kinda bad. But MF exchanged it for me with no hassle and I got one that looks a lot better... so I guess be on the look out for that when ordering over the web. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who likes Tele's!!

Vintage and Modern meet

I've wanted an inexpensive ash bodied tele with the butterscotch finish and this guitar fits the bill. For the price (I paid less, discounts in Oct)it's a well done presentation. The fit, finish and frets were very good for the price range. My only problem was the nut, it's cut strictly for those stock .009 strings and I have to do some filing to get .010s to work and not snag and "ping" while tuning. The noiseless pickups are very smooth and offer some great tones. The neck is woody with some clarity, the bridge is not your vintage pup. The bridge pup is smooth without the high end bite, smoother mids and ave. bass response. It works well with overdrive and maintains clarity. It's not a monster "Twang" toned bridge pup. I like the modern bridge, after having many vintage/ashtray bridges that dig into your right hand, this modern unit is welcome. Overall, I like this tele, it's nice to have something "different" in terms of the pups and color than all the other MIM Standards. ONE big wish is that Fender would have used the Original Vintage or Nocaster pups on this as the upgrade - seems to me that would've been the logical choice.
