bought this strat from musicians friend, and after a small issue with UPS, it arrived at my house with the middle pickup not functioning. a quick warranty repair call later, and it was perfect. the action is smooth, and pickups clear and bright. everything you'd expect out of a standard strat. the bridge pickup was surprisingly powerful, much more saturated with harmonics than i had expected. The lake placid blue finish looks much better in person than in the pictures. if you understand how the floyd rose trem operates, even floating, you can keep it in tune for weeks at a time. My only gripe is that the trem arm rattles slightly in its socket, but this is pretty typical. I may eventually change out the bridge pickup for a dimarzio PAF Pro, for more clarity, but the stock pickups are very good. this stratocaster will definitely stay with me for many years to come.

ok first off i love traditional style guitars (strat, tele, les paul, sg, etc.) and i have quite a few guitars already. my main guitar was an epiphone les paul with 2 SD pearly gates in it, i didnt think id ever find a guitar that was better. well i did, i was in my local guitar center and stumbled across this strat, i played on it for a few minutes and i really liked the sound and feel (which is much different from a squire, not to say that squire's are bad cause they're not, just different). but since i didnt have any cash on me i didnt get it. well some time went by then about a month ago, i ordered it off of here, and let me tell you its awesome. i got it in black, and being the perfectionist i am, i immediately changed some stuff, such as i changed the pickguard to a diamond plate one. changed the knobs to black, and added a SD screamin demon in the bridge, a duckbucker in the middle, and a lil 59 in the neck, and let me tell you, this guitar screams. i could waste my time telling you that iron maiden uses strats like this, but believe me, this guitar has its own goodness. it beats all my other guitars (custom epi les paul, dean ml, esp V, jackson RR, squire j5 tele, and all 3 of my squire strats (bullet, standard, and affinity)) if you get it, you wont be dissappointed.

I bought this guitar back in 06. SSH is setup with a Floyd Rose which is quite handy. This is slightly recessed but the tremolo is bolted onto the body like the Wolfgangs. Which is great cause when you change strings you don't have to worry about the intonation going all screwy on ya. The pickups are okay but you would need to replace them. Which I'm finally doing. This guitar has great sustain and it's built to last. I'm really thinking of purchasing one of these again for a 2nd guitar. I've thought about selling it to purchase a rg but I've reconsidered and now keeping it. Instead I'm going to be upgrading everything on it. Anyway, This guitar is great and you would def. be happy with this purchase.
