The Fender Road Worn '50s Telecaster is an electric guitar that delivers killer aged look, feel and mojo without breaking the bank. This is a Tele that was designed using 1950s specs augmented by Tex-Mex pickups and 6105 frets.

Like classic cars or your favorite T-shirt, some things just get cooler with age. That's especially true of electric guitars—they develop an unmistakable mojo over time that makes them look even cooler and feel even more comfortable than when they were brand new. In that regard, the Fender Road Worn '50s Telecaster is a true player.

this is essentially a mexican tele with tex mex pups. the difference for me was the feel. i played an american standard and this and although i thought the relicing was stupid the neck felt more comfortable and i like resting my hand on the vintage bridge surround. its all feel and taste you have try it before you buy it. i love mine.

overall get this thing set up and it will play well. Im getting one soon to use as a build to work on. Ill start with a seymor duncan 59 in the neck which will help this thing drasticly. Although the 'road worn' finish is a bit cliche and tacky, its nice in the long run after you throw the thing around a bit and make it more your own. overall worth it if your willing to work on it a bit. I personally wouldnt take it out for a gig stock.

Honestly, this is one of the best sounding and most comfortable teles I've ever played. I just wish they wouldn't screw it up by relic-ing it. It has a thick, 'U' shaped neck and the tall but thin 6105 jumbo frets, that for me, makes it real easy to play. The Tex Mex pickups are full and bright sounding. it would be perfect if it had brass saddles, a black pickguard and wasn't purposely beat up looking. Honestly, it doesn't look like a naturally aged guitar. The relic-ing looks intentional, fake and pretentious.

I picked one up at a local music store and couldn't put it down. So I bought it. I'm so tired of people saying you should wear a guitar out yourself. The truth is that most of us work all day and could only wish we had the time to do that. Most of us only play for enjoyment and don't gig 4 times a week, some of us don't gig at all. It would take us 200 years to wear a guitar out. As far as the wear marks all looking the same.........who cares! Don't the brand new '52 reissues all look the same too???? One thing is for certain, no two pieces of wood look that same so they are all going to be different in some way. So, if you like it and want it and can afford it then buy it. The bottom line is, it looks, feels, plays and sounds like a telecaster. Make your own decision, I did and I'm having a blast with mine and I'm glad I own one. Go and get yours before they're all gone!

The Fender Road Worn Telecaster is an outstanding instrument. I bought one a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. This guitar is great NOT because of the road worn look but because of the road worn FEEL. I've been playing for 28 years (fifteen professionally) and this guitar slips right by the uncomfortable stiff feeling of many new guitars. The Tex Mex pickups ad just the right punch and tone. If you're a real player and feel and tone override a flashy appearance I highly recommend. It's a player's guitar. I love it.
