I own this guitar, and it helped me get started with the basics before I was too concerned with tone quality, features and overall quality of the insturment. For the money it is probably a good buy if you are looking for a cheap guitar to start off with. You can tell it is a cheap guitar, but by merely putting some better strings on it you get a guitar that is going to allow you to learn the basics without paying much and without getting any extras. Am I happy I bought it? Yes, but only because it has taken me a long time to get dedicated to learning the guitar, otherwise just get something better.

I'm a public school music teacher. I have 26 of these guitars in my classroom. I've had them for 8 years. Overall, it is a good guitar for a child. Some of these guitars sound and play great and some of them not as well. I had one in the bunch that broke the tuning key and the back separated from it. The rest are fine. It is really amazing on how different each one will sound. I would suggest buying this only if you can try a few out and pick from the best of the litter. Go to your local guitar dealer. It will be a gamble to buy on-line without playing it first. For the price, they are good guitars overall.
