I got one of these Highway one strats. A blem. It had one little ding in the body. I really like this guitar. The pickups are very full sounding with great clarity. I have been a Gibson man for over forty years but this guitar is just as much fun to play. I like the big frets and the big clean sound. It also sounds very good with different levels of distortion. I've own many strats during the last 40 years, so I'm very familiar with the quirks and flaws that make up a strat. The basic guitar is fine, but it's the little things that make me disgusted with Fender's lack of quality control. The guitar was packed well and in good shape, but the whammy bar was a rusted, chipped up piece of trash they must've had lying around for 10 years or more. It actually had chunks out of it. When I tried to adjust the string height, some of the allen screws were reamed. Once again, more trash they had lying around. I bought this model mainly for the jumbo frets plus that extra fret, that's missing from the normal strat. I own an old Mexican strat, I put a Schecter neck (22 jumbo frets), it's one of my favorites, now. I also own an American Series Strat, which had to be totally revamped, the original pickup are the worse strat pickup I've ever owned. The moral of this story is, buy the Standard Strat, then accessorize. Made in America doesn't mean crap, especially with Fender.
