I've had this a few months now and kike it more every time I play out with it. I sold all my tube amps when I got it. I've had every Fender tube amp up to a Deluxe Reverb. I just played at a jam at a club and walked in the the amp, speaker and my guitar in one load plugged in and let it rip. The Acoustic version of this has been my main acoustic vocal amp for several years. I finally broke down and gave this a try even thou it is a bit expensive. I use mostly Gibsons with P-90s and Humbuckers. This thing is clean as country water from low to loud as you want to get. Everyone in the place walked up and had to see what the heck it was. I do not use the gain channel yet as I'm not a gain type player. A friend that likes gain however was trying it out after a gig and I put him on the gain channel. Tell you what. There is nothing wrong with that end of it. Its nothing like any of the simulations on a Roland Cube. If you like clean jazz, blues, country, rock all of it and are tired of lugging around a Twin this baby is for you. Its not a cheap noise maker amp for kids. Its for adult serious players that are into sound quality and can afford nice amps to go with their nice guitars. Sorry if I offend anyone with that.

Great Amp

I have had this amp almost 4 years and like it more the more I play it. I did not expect to use the distortion channel at all, but with correct settings it makes a second clean choice as well as working well for fusion, blues, and rock tones. I also did not expect to use any of the effects except for reverb, but they are voiced subtly and exquistely for jazz and pop. Along with its clean, warm tone, it has a distinct and complex Fender character. I have heard a lot of musicians complain about the price, but IMO it is competitive with Acoustic Image, Hendriksen, etc. in features, quality, price, and sound.

Great Versatile and Portable Amp Head

This unit is very portable, but still packs a punch. The onboard effects provide some nice options and the reverb is especially good. Clean tone is nothing short of superb and at lower gain settings it is possible to approximate a very good tube amplifier.
This amp serves well for many styles (not just jazz) and the matching cabinet really works well with it. Even acoustic sounds great through this amp.
The only notable omission is the lack of an effects loop, but the onboard effects are more than enough for me.
Both the head and cabinet live up to their names - they are amazingly light and portable. The headphone output is great and it is nice to be able to use my performance amp at low levels or through the headphones.
There are amps out there that are louder or have slightly better tone, but this wins hands down in the areas of versatility and portability.

Excellent Gig Amp

I play a weekly jazz gig as well as some louder larger club gigs. I had a larger fender but got tired of the weight so on a fluke I tried the Ultralight not expecting much. Was I ever impressed. I play with a clean jazz tone as well as a rock fusion overdrive tone and the amp handles both really well. With my Heritage semi-hollow-body as well as my Strat it sounds stellar and I get compliments on my tone on almost every gig. However the amp could use some improvements. The lettering on the controls are not the least bit stage-friendly and you cannot add effects through a loop.
Overall it's a brilliant design and a real break though for gigging guitarist.

Not Just for Jazz....

I play in a weekend Classic Rock band--yeah, that's right: ROCK-- and have used this amp with great success. Normally, I choose quality tube amps in combo w/ a pedalboard to reach all the tones we need in covering songs from the 60's on. I picked up the Jazzmaster after reading about a shredder from Italy who chooses this amp for it's tube-like distortion (Gabrielle-something?) and it is truly fantastic: a most underrated little box for people who like tube-sound but need solid-state dependability. I carry it as a spare, and used it for a very important weekend gig at a posh resort, when my expensive Dr. Z amp inexplicably fried the fuse & rectifier tube a hundred miles from Nowhere. I used the Jazzmaster all weekend and had a terrific show. It does not take pedals very well, but the built-in effects and distortion were plenty to get the job done. I love it, and should probably use it more, but I'm still rather dependent on using my pedals. If I can wean myself from that crutch, this will become a serious go-to amp. It works especially well with a Celestion-Blue 12" speaker--very lively and "tube-like."
