Great value; Great Cleans; Loud and kind of heavy

I bought this amp new about 13 years ago...never had any problems. The amp's clean channel is awesome and the drive channels are not too shabby. The amp's natural breakup on the clean channel is pretty amazing, if your ears can handle the decibel level required to get there. A word of caution: In my youth I thought bigger was always better; Over the years though I've realized this amp is extremely loud, and pretty heavy to lug around. In many settings to get the amp to where its tone starts to sound the best, it's too loud. Unless you really need all that power, you might consider a smaller rig.

Had this amp for 2 years. By itself you've got to work at it to make it NOT sound awesome. I got it to be dual purpose for me. Using it clean to run out from my effects for power, which it handles admirably. Also for if I just wanted/needed to plug straight in, no effects; which it handles amazingly. If your looking at the Super Reverb in comparison, I'd advise the Deville 4x10. The SR is great for pure sound for your effects set up but has no drive channel and the Deville is considerably less expensive, plus it has 15 more watts . Which depending you may or may not need cause this amp is stupid loud. I run at maybe 3-4 durring practice and can confirm from a previous review that it starts to break up at 7-8. Only reason I didn't give it perfect marks is because this is NOT a boutiqe amp. It does not have all the fancy features. But if you know the add-ons to get, you don't need them onboard and you can save yourself a bunch of money(ahem... Hot Plate). Buy it now and start exercising your cheeks to be smiling from ear to ear!

I purchased the 410 Deville used about three years ago. I plugged in my 70's reissue stratocaster and never looked back. The amplifier, as I'm sure you have read by now, delivers an imressive clean tone. Many guitarists prefer to leave the tone controls on their actual instrument where they are and add a new pedal to their board to fix the "lack" of tone/ drive on the distorted channels. But for me, the drive channels on the Deville are not half bad at all! The long spring reverb is quite impressive and adds a very comfortable feel to an array of blues, eliminating the need for a costly effects pedal. Wrapping it up here...If you want an amplifier with an unbeatable clean channel and the ability to take a little constructive criticism from your favorite drive pedal, buy one! O yeah...did I mention that it is a tube amplifier!? The tone just keeps giving!

For clean jazz and neo-classical this amp truly is amazing. Plug a Les Paul in the clean channel, add a bit of reverb and crank it up maybe half way and you'll think you've died in battle and gone to Valhalla to party with the gods forever! Seriously an awesome clean amp. Not the best for metal but with those cleans who cares!

I bought this amp used about 4 years ago and have not had any problems with it. The clean channel is extremely responsive. Sounds great both with my ASAT and LP. The distortion on it is ok, but that is what my stomp boxes are for. The reverb has not let me down either. This amp has taken road wear like a champ also. Very solidly built. I would definitely recommend this amp for all styles except metal.
